Flawed, but fun.

Jeff, Jeannie and Marty answer a call for help from Felia, who's baby boy has been kidnapped by gangsters. The trip head to Latvia, and do their best to reunite mother and baby, first they must learn who and what The Glorious Buytanekh is.

This is as close to a straight up thriller as they ever got, especially in the second series, of course there's the Buytanekh angle, but largely it's a little more Earthly.

It's very atmospheric, and scenes of The Latvian forest look great, plenty of excellent special effects, the shoot em up scenes look great.

However, there is just one thing that doesn't work, I love Pauline Quirke, I think she's a tremendous actress, but she's not Felia, she doesn't sound right, she doesn't look right, such a shame they couldn't convince Jessica Hynes to take part, Hynes was so dry, so straight laced, Quirke is just too animated, she's trying to copy the performances of Hynes, it spoils what would otherwise have been a decent episode.

Jeannie's fight scene is arguably the highlight, Fox looks like she bad a lot of fun here, in the previous episode she felt like a sex symbol, here she was so much more.

My least favourite from Series two, but it's still a fine episode.

7/10.
