Anne Ferris (Sinéad Cusack) is the daughter of wealthy Canadian tycoon Adam Ferris (Anthony Steel) and she has disappeared on a visit to London.
It seems that she has joined a religious cult run by Mrs Apsimon. They practice a mixture of new age Christianity and spiritualism. Much worse they are vegetarians.
Adam Ferris is convinced that his daughter has been brainwashed. He wants the Protectors to rescue Anne after all she is a wealthy heiress.
Harry Rule gets in the cult by pretending to a homeless drunken bum. He finds that at least one member has sinister intentions but there is also something supernatural at play.
It was surprising how quickly Harry could just snoop about the building. What is worse how the baddie could go around with a gun, a knife and have access to a dodgy typewriter.
