Jack (Tony Musante) is a veteran street cop who has a new rookie partner, Jay (Desi Arnaz Jr.). Jack obviously is very good at his job but through the course of the episode, you see that he's completely incompetent at home. As for the partner, Jay is nervous and unsure of himself, but at the show progresses you see him change at home....and he's quickly becoming a real jerk. Both men are possibly about to lose their wives for good. Can either find a way to find some sort of healthy balance in their lives?
I think this is a VERY realistic and perceptive episode, though it's far from fun or glamorous. But I think this sort of negative (or at least mixed) view of police life is reasonable and worth seeing. My only quibble, and it's not a major one, is that Arnaz wasn't particularly great.
