Warning: Spoilers
Murphy can't be in pain when she's being annoyed, and with Jim and Frank there at the hospital when she starts to feel labor pains, it's actually a good thing for her because for a few seconds at a time her anger makes those pains subside. Frank, who came over with pretty much all of her underwear and some inappropriate items for childbirth, tries to calm her down by questioning her like a subject of an interview as she screams horrendously, and there are little asides with the staff members on camera filming a video for the baby to see later documenting Murphy's experience giving birth. Coach Elden is nowhere to be found, and of course the men from FYI are of no help. This leads to some very funny visuals, one of Murphy barely able to walk down the hall and then screeching and pain and Miles diving under her hospital gown to catch the baby. The writers really delved into everything they had created with Murphy to make her experience of childbirth completely realistic, making it clear that the United States probably didn't need full military protection in winning a war. All they needed was to send over Murphy in childbirth, and the enemy would surrender in seconds.
