Rudy
JordanThomasHall14 November 2019
Sam hires a new farmhand, Rudy Harwell (Glen Ash) to harvest the crops. The husky, middle-aged man fits in instantly with everyone and builds a friendship with Mike. Flora, who is still watching over the family while Aunt Bee is away caring for her ailing sister, suggests Sam should spend more time with Mike. She is afraid Mike is beginning to enjoy being around Rudy more than him. Sam is disheartened when his attempts fall short of Mike's interest in spending time with Rudy. A strength of character will be shown.

Time waster

A loosely based remake from "The Andy Griffith Show" where Buddy Ebsen is a transient hobo teaching Opie (Ronny Howard) bad habits. So bad it's tough to think of any highlights.

Another example of Sam (Ken Berry) and Mike Jones (Buddy Foster) being too bland and generic of characters to be leads in episodes. Vanilla Glen Ash as Rudy Harwell was an odd casting choice. All the funnier supporting characters were missing from this episode except a small bit of Emmett Clark (Paul Hartman). Dorothy Konrad as Flora feels like she's doing a half-hearted Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier) impression down to copying her speaking, and demeanor.
