An evil racist watcher. Mac seems tone-deaf. Great character with Carl Robinson.

Warning: Spoilers
Carl Robinson a black immortal steals Charlie's car, and an apparent racist police officer is after him.

Some good flashbacks of Mac rescuing Carl from a lynching from the '20s in the south, and then later in the 1950s when Mac beats up a racist sheriff. Loved it. Carl tells Mac on both occasions that he wants to be somebody perhaps a baseball player and/or a politician.

In present-day Carl is kind of a street guy stealing from drug dealers. Too bad no one bothered to tell Mac and Charlie for that matter that Carl got rid of drug dealers and their drugs, tho he did take the money which I thought was kinda funny. Mac and Charlie think he is just a thief never realizing that he also did a good thing.

Carl has a negative outlook on life. I wish we could have found out what happened that he ended up being a thief on the streets. It's kind of sad when Mac sees his master's degree and baseball picture on the wall where he's living in some rundown place on the waterfront.

I agree with Mac on everything he said to Carl, but at the same time, Mac seemed tone-deaf to me. Yes, Carl had a chip on his shoulder, but Mac never even bothered to find out why. What specifically happened? He never walked in this man's shoes. Maybe Carl is actually right to have the feeling that racism brought him down. Mac doesn't know this but racism can hurt very deeply in a person's soul and affect a person's outlook on life.

A police officer tries to kill Carl with an ax. Mac believes it's a watcher. He's right. But guess what Mac? That doesn't mean that Carl isn't also right about the cop being a racist. Yes, he was a watcher, but he was indeed a racist watcher. That was obvious in earlier comments he made such as to Charlie, implying he couldn't read, the disparaging comment about the people in the neighborhood, and his beating Carl's friend and threatening to plant drugs on him like he's done it a million times.

This is another example of an evil watcher. One has to wonder throughout the centuries how many of them had bigotries and biases that spurred them to kill immortals. Like I said in an earlier review, it's stupid that Mac is ok with them watching him. Imagine for yourself that everywhere you went, everything you do, one of these stalkers is following you at all times recording everything about you. Would you be ok with that? Especially knowing there are some evil ones out there that may try to kill you? I think not.

I liked the resolution to the story as Mac and Carl go to a good cop to help them. Love when Carl places his hand on the shoulder of the good cop after he just killed his partner.

I loved Carl. The actor was attractive and bad*ss, and had a lot of charisma. He did a really good job in the role. I'm glad they bring him back again in a future episode. I enjoy his and Mac's friendship. I gave the episode a 7/10
