Another excellent Wo Fat episode.

Warning: Spoilers
While the Wo Fat episodes really made no sense, they also were among the best shows in the series simply because they were fun and very creative. So, ignore the voice in your head that asks 'why would the greatest of all Chinese Communist spies always end up doing battle for the fate of mankind with the head of a state police task force?!?' and just enjoy! The show begins with an amazingly easy theft of a top government rocket guidance system. Considering how easy it was for these two guys to do it, it obviously is a flaw in how the show was written. But, it leads to a complex crime that involves McGarrett and the US Government trying to figure out how so many disparate occurrences all fit together. The ultimate plan, like most of Wo Fat's, is complicated, diabolical and good fun on TV. And, like a well-written show, the viewer, too, is baffled until late--when it all begins to make sense. In the end, there is a really good scene involving Wo Fat and McGarrett having a little heart-to-heart--and it's riveting.

The only other negative I have is the scene where one of the agents is shot at close range and left to die on a shag carpet....and yet when he is discovered there is no blood stain of any type. I know that this show and others were apprehensive to show blood back in the 1970s, but this did make it look a bit ridiculous.

Powerful

McGarrett versus Wo Fat always makes for an intriguing episode, and while this isn't one of the MOST intriguing of those, it is a powerful one.

Wo Fat uses hired talent to steal a new guidance system, killing (almost) everyone in the facility in their wake. McGarrett is tasked with recovering the device at all costs. Wo Fat make a few uncharacteristic mistakes to speed along 5-0's always competent procedural investigation. I didn't completely buy why Wo Fat chose to attempt smuggling the device off the island the way he did, but it made for a complex story and an emotional scene I've remembered since the original broadcast episode in 1972. Well worth the watch.

One of the best episodes

This is an exciting episode in which Steve and our 5-0 team once again tangle with their arch-enemy, Wo Fat. Wo Fat has all the resources of a foreign government at his disposal, so he is a tough opponent for 5-0. This is a particularly good episode for Chin Ho, he gets to show some range here and his good acting skills. Fans of the series will enjoy this adventure.
