One of the first surprises.

Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the first episodes that showed some of the first surprises the writers had in store for the viewers during the opening. As Eb is walking toward the barn after the credits he mouths the words "Darling I love you, but give me Park Ave" in Lisa Douglas's voice taken from the theme song from the show. It's been six months since moving to the farm, the time she has set to decide to stay or go back to New York. After a lot of very funny conversations with almost all of the characters of the show she does decide to stay (obviously or the show would have ended after this episode).

That said this episode showcased the first time the writers started playing around with the opening sequence. After several more episodes they started doing things like having Lisa and Oliver both noticing, mentioning it to each other and then immediately ignoring the names of the producers, writers and director displayed on the screen in front of them. In some later episodes those credits would appear printed on eggs Lisa would collect from the chickens or appear and then disappear around the corner of the farm house when they tried to read them and so on. The show was delightfully absurd in the first place, but it was when they started adding the many other small tweaks like this that made me a lifelong fan. Watching it all these years later (and sometimes under the influence) it's still just as funny today as then.
