Midge Varney (Barbara Stanwyck) was madly in love with her husband Charlie.
However he was allegedly gunned down by a guy called Jason Nichols.
Midge wants revenge and goes to shoot Nichols. He begs for his life, pleads his innocence and tells her that he always loved Midge.
The next day Midge sends Nichols some clothes and seems to warm to him.
Nichols was always a heel and Midge friends are shocked by her behaviour. While Nichols realizes that he is on to a good thing.
