Part two of "The Not so Great Escape" is not quite as funny as part one, but its still an excellent chapter in the "Get Smart" saga. Having been captured by Siegfreid, Smart and the Chief work on various plans to get away. Then, in what turns this more into a parody of "Stalag 17" they discover they have a traitor in their midst and work to expose him before the real Kessler arrives to take the 22 prisoners behind the Iron Curtain for brainwashing.

Bernie Kopell and King Moody are completely in the zone as Siegfried and his henchman Schtarker. They are clearly enjoying their roles and bring a lot of lunatic energy to the story. It's too bad Kopell didn't get a chance to play more outrageous characters like Siegfried in his career. He was wasted as "Doc" on "Love Boat".

Adams contributes both inspired direction and a top performance as Max. I wonder if they knew the network was going to pull the plug on them though. The series ends its run on NBC with the power going off and the lights going out on Max and 99 in their apartment.
