Meet Flexo... Bender's 'evil' double!
Tweekums16 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
During a visit to 'Past-O-Rama', a theme park where people can experience what life was like in twentieth century New York, Fry accidentally crashes a car into Flexo, a robot that looks almost identical to Bender; in fact the only difference is that Flexo has a beard. Bender and Flexo soon become great friends and start hanging out together... inevitably Fry hates him. Later on when Planet Express is hired to take a priceless tiara to the Miss Universe competition Flexo is hired to provide extra security. When the inevitable happens and it goes missing in transit Flexo is assumed to be the guilty party... after all none of the regular crew would stoop so low... would they?

There were plenty of laughs to be had in this episode. Past-O-Rama had lots of amusing inaccuracies such as Bender mistaking a phone box for a suicide booth... Fry explains that it was actually used as a bathroom! Flexo was a decent character; not surprising when he is essentially Bender with a goatee. Bob Barker makes an entertaining appearance as his own head although I'm sure he is even funnier if you are familiar with him from 'The Price is Right'. Fans of Zapp Brannigan will be pleased to know that he makes an appearance and once again is less than competent!

The One With Flexo...

Warning: Spoilers
I actually really love this episode. I love seeing Flexo, as he's so funny, and when it turns out that Bender is really the evil one, I just laughed so hard. I also laughed a lot when I read the title card at the beginning of the episode. It was so funny. I also loved the way they made the Miss Universe Pageant, and how they had Miss Earth, and Miss Mars, etc.

In this episode, everyone goes to the 20th Century Museum, where Fry reminisces, and tells everyone wrong facts about his time. While there, Bender runs into another Bending Unit, named Flexo. The two of them hit it off, and have a lot of wacky, crazy fun together. Flexo is even hired at Planet Express, and everyone has to protect the Miss Universe Pageant prized tiara, which is worth a fortune. But then the tiara goes missing, and by the end of it, everyone blames Flexo, when Bender is really the culprit.

Title Card: The Show that Watches Back.

Best part of the episode: Everything.

Overall, I give this episode a 9 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Amazing.

This episode was ridiculously hilarious...

Warning: Spoilers
...especially when Barker's head (voiced by Bob Barker himself) asked the crew of Planet Express (who had lost the priceless tiara)if they knew how much the priceless tiara was actually worth. After all had guessed, he informed (I believe it was Bender) he was closest without going over. I rather enjoyed the spoof on the Price is Right...as well as Barker nearly going "mobster" on them for having lost it. This episode is also the premier appearance of Flexo, Bender's long lost "brother"...y'know...the one with the go tee. Bender frames him for the theft of the "Jumbonium" tiara, and he disappears for awhile. He reappears in later episodes, one of which in the form of competition for a love interest.
