Highly entertaining episode

This is an episode that stood out in my memory from when I first had seen it in 1987 at age 16. In particular, I remembered Sammy Jo at the kissing booth, Dex in the dunk tank and the tug of war over the mud pit with Krystle and Alexis.

What fun it was to see this one again. The fair really doesn't start until halfway into the episode. And there were some good scenes in the first half (especially the one where Alexis caught Leslie pretending to be her). But the fair itself was most memorable. Not just for the activities the cast engaged in-- the ones already mentioned, plus Blake & Sean playing the game where Sean hid Blake's diamond ring as well as the flame eater and the juggler eating the apples-- but also because of the costumes, the lighting and sheer expense that must have gone into hiring all those extras.

Most impressive though is how all the individual story lines wove seamlessly throughout the fair-- Sean blackmailing Dana; Alexis getting ready to show the incriminating tape of Blake visiting the prostitute; Sammy Jo caught in a fight between Steven and Josh; and Jeff and Fallon's crumbling marriage with Fallon confronting Leslie in the ladies room. The whole thing was great all the way through, and it reminds me how good 80s television could be. Especially how entertaining 'Dynasty' could be.
