  Pop Larkin : We'd better talk to Ma.

  Primrose : I already have. She said that it was up to you.

  Pop Larkin : [thwarted]  Oh, did she? I'll tell you what. Why don't we sleep on it tonight, and then we'll talk about it again in the morning?

  Primrose : Pop...?

  Pop Larkin : Hmm?

  Primrose : You and I better have a chat about something else. I was in the dunes this afternoon. I never knew you could swim.
