PC Predictable, But A Nice Look At A Great City
ccthemovieman-119 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This was a great look at a pretty and a unique-looking big city in America, one with a significantly-rich history. No sense going into it; you know it....but it's a beautiful to be photographed and City Confidential does a great job here making it look good.

However, there are many diverse neighborhoods in the Boston area and most of of them, we are told, stick to themselves. Actually, that's not unusual anywhere in the world but, CC uses that as a racial tool in this story. It seems in the seedy black area of Mission Hills, a white couple was ambushed while heading to a nearby hospital. The female was about to give birth. The expectant wife was gunned down. She and her baby died. The husband suffered wounds but survived.

Of course, in the PC world of TV or movie entertainment, if you have a racial conflict, who do you think will be the innocent party? Duh.....it's always the same, so there is no "mystery" to this crime. Somehow you just know the husband must have been in on this.....or there wouldn't have been a story here on CC.

This story of the Stuart family - Carol and Chuck - was basically one in which the husband did not want and kids cramping his new Newberry Street Yuppie lifestyle. When his wife was murdered and the man said a black guy did it, the police went in and tore apart the neighborhood looking for the killer. That's what got the black folks bitter. That bitterness turned to rage when the truth was found out. Boston has never been a city with great racial relations and this just made it worse. Of course, the Dimatti (Carol's maiden name) family was devastated, too. What happened to her husband also is very interesting.

This crime took place 20 years ago and reports are, CC tells us, things are "more diverse" thanks to "intelligent liberals" who have come into the neighborhoods.

Good Night Beantown!

Boston is a great city but an hour is too short to even show it's highlights. I love Boston but an hour is too short. The story follows the horrific murder of a pregnant wife, Mrs. Stuart. Her husband shot his very pregnant wife and made it look to appear as if it was an incident on the poor side of town. The criminal didn't shoot the husband who was driving the car would have been the likely target in a carjacking and even take the car itself. An hour in Boston is like spending an hour on New York City. It's not enough time to grasp and understand it's rich history. The Stuart murder alone was enough to spend an hour on describing the husband's motives. There was no trial because Charles Stuart committed suicide.
