The notorious Gauge Brothers
bkoganbing8 April 2020
This Cimarron Strip episode has Marshal Crown bringing in the Gauge Brothers played here by Steve Ihnat and David Carradine. At one time there were several brothers, but they're down to only these two left.

They surrender peacefully and have the freedom of the town while Stuart Whitman investigates past allegations against the brothers. But James Gregory whose son was allegedly killed by them has hired his own paid killers to give him his own brand of justice.

Some standout performances from Carradine and Ihnat are featured in this episode. Marshal Crown's final scenes with both are moving.

I don't think he's especially rehabilitated.

Steve Ihnat and David Carradine play brothers, Felix and Gene Gauge. Both are wanted men and when Marshall Crown catches up to them, he proposes they give up and come along peacably...and take their punishment as well as clear their names for crimes they didn't commit. But when he brings the pair into Cimarron, folks see this as an opportunity to even some old scores. Where does it go next? Well, you're probably in for a few surprises if you watch.

This is a good episode and it's made better by the guest stars. While Ihnat isn't a household name (probably because he died so young), he was a terrific actor...and Carradine certainly was no slouch. Well worth seeing.
