Captain Tempest and his crew go to a small island to bury two chests of gold because of piracy in the area. The Sultana is in no fit state to fight them off as it needs a refit. It is all done surreptitiously.
However ruthless pirate Peg Leg (Richard Johnson) and his men are waiting for them. Captain Dan Tempest is robbed off his gold and a shot fired at Peg Leg has no effect in him. He is pistol proof.
Captain Tempest realises that there is a spy aboard his own ship the Sultana. Taffy is sent to find out more from Peg Leg's men as he was not seen by them.
Only Taffy finds himself in danger. Captain Tempest needs to rescue Taffy but needs to find the spy first. Then there is the matter of Peg Leg being pistol proof.
An early appearance from Richard Johnson who went on to become a noted stage and screen actor. This was a good story as the crew of the Sultana turn on each other. It even has a Pirates of the Caribbean vibe.
