As Time Goes By wraps up

All the regular cast appear except for Joan Sims, who sadly died in 2001, and David Michaels who was unable to appear as Harry. Harry was played by Daniel Ryan, who gave Harry a more subdued tone than David.

Sadly there will be no more reunion. Jenny Funnell (Sandy) tweeted in 2017 that with the death of writer Bob Larbey in 2014, there'll be no more reunion unfortunately. If there was a reunion today, it would be sans Frank Middlemass (Rocky), Joan Sims (Madge) and Moyra Fraser (Penny). It happened in 2016 the cast and crew of As Time Goes By had a reunion gathering, which Jenny tweeted.

This reunion special was dedicated to Phil Jones OBE (1927 to 2004), a producer of the series.

I miss As Time Goes By. By far one of the best series from the UK. Maybe there is some fanfic out there which provides an update for fans like myself.

Interesting to see them all a little bit older, but still delivering the same charm and camaraderie as before, and the laughs are still there with the clever one liners. I'm sure they could have delivered even more, but perhaps wisely chose to keep it to a minimum and leave the fans wanting more than doing it to death like many others have done. Full praise to all concerned for delivering the goods in this timeless classic, may it continue to be enjoyed as time goes by!

almost but... just another episode... no closure

Great series but the last seems like a "first draft." Of course, fans will accept it the actors and the actors as they are. On possibility is that it seemed as if they had planned for 6-7 episodes, but then were told they only had four. Sort of jumbled and jammed as threads were unraveling from every direction, making sure that everyone had face time. Unfortunately, the last episode ending in a hospital almost seems as a metaphor for the this last series and not very creative at all completing few (if any) arcs. That is, if they were certain that these were the last episodes, there was little (if any) closure to the series. Just another episode.

It Just Ends

Maybe the DVD I have is not what actually aired, but it just ends with Jean and Lionel sitting in the hospital. Is that true? I can't believe that's the best they could do after 9 seasons. Very disappointed.

Absolutely Terrible

A "reunion" show that brings all the surviving cast members in 2005 and stupidly adds a red herring of a Black son from Kenya. But what's the point? The 2-part episode goes nowhere.

Perhaps they planned on more "reunions" so this one just ends ... with no resolution to anything and no finale. The cast members simply walk away to get tea while Dench and Palmer sit there in the ER. That's it!

Forced and badly executed, Sadly, this would be the last appearance by Frank Middlemass.

kinda good kinda not so much

Lost my other review. Well, this one was real funny in spots. And I enjoy the characters. However, Alistair was a bit of a weird creep, hate that kind of humor, unpleasant. And it was unfortunate that I believe the young dr was called 'boy' a couple times, please people! He deserved respect. Hmmm, says my review is too short?! Whoa. Okay, what else can I add then...this story went wrong in some places. Why isn't the absence of Rocky's wife explained? Also, sometimes Sandy irritates me in how her top is too low in one scene, and the same top is more modest in others. At least they showed she wouldn't drink alcohol in her pregnancy.
