I never feel like cocoa and buns... A great episode.

Grace Brothers are in trouble, their figures are slipping, Mrs Slocombe has sticky draws and a problem with her pussy, Mr Humphreys got his handbag stuck, and Mr Lucas is struggling for sales.

There is some real quality to these early episodes. Very original, very funny, and I think it's the first time we get to see just how funny John Inman was, a brilliant delivery, even though the focus is still very much on Bannister.

The first time we get a mention of Mrs Slocombe's pussy, a gag that would run for many years.

Captain Peacock's doggerel is hilarious.

Very funny indeed. 8/10

Our Figures Are Slipping

You sense that Mr Humphries is not the main focus in the show yet. Everytime someone asks 'Are You Free' I expect Mr Humphries to reply back.

Captain Peacock still has a stern eye on young Mr Lucas. He is one minute late in arriving to work.

His sales figures are not good enough. In fact the whole departments sales figures are low.

The staff have to stay on late as young Mr Grace arrives for a chat. The staff are not happy, Mrs Slocombe is worried as to who will look after hr pussy.

Only for Mr Lucas to make a surprising sale of a fancy coat to Mr Grace.

A mildly amusing, although the first half of it seemed to be the staff clocking on for work. Thankfully the joke quotient goes high later.
