Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire
Hitchcoc7 January 2020
Andy goes to Raleigh to meet a lawyer. It turns out it is a beautiful blonde played by Whitney Blake, who had an extensive TV career. Andy is once again done in by a strong attractive female. They do their work by her pool and he ends up with a godawful tan. Of course, when he returns, he lies to Helen. He should know better. This tendency in Andy kind of smacks of having your cake and eating it too. Helen blows her stack but alway seems to go back to Andy--of course not without a lesson. The scene in the courthouse is pretty darned funny.

Memorable for Whitney Blake appearance

Aneta Corsaut & Whitney Blake's beauty are the highlights of the episode. Andy's lies are the theme putting him behind the 8 ball. The awkward pool scene with stunner Whitney Blake elevates an only ok episode to a classic. Andy's awkward shy shtick worked well. With due east Raleigh Andy gets his story mixed up pointed out by pest Howard. The Helen jealousy recurrent theme keeps the relationship interesting. A funny epilogue featuring dimwit Goober.

SO UNREALISTIC!

This episode is so unrealistic! In the first place when Andy had to meet with a woman attorney concerning his testimony in a case that she is handling, he would have left early in the morning so he would have been able to return to Mayberry in time to take Helen to the dance. Secondly, Andy wouldn't have had the meeting by her pool, let alone taking a swim with her. The ethical thing would have been to meet in the attorney's office. This episode is so far fetched!
