Tyr loses his memory and crashes on a remote planet
Tweekums9 May 2018
This episode opens with an unknown couple looking up as a spaceship streaks across the sky and crashes. It emerges they are Yvaine and Breyon; a mother and step-son who live on a planet subjugated by a Nietzschean Pride they call 'Dragons'. Yvaine goes to investigate the crash and discovers Tyr aboard a damaged Eureka Maru. He has no idea who he is although he instinctively knows that the Dragons are his enemy; he also knows a mysterious locked case is very important to him. Yvaine helps him recover but finds herself in danger when she is betrayed to the Dragons. They then try to force Tyr to hand over the case, which he has hidden. Meanwhile back on Andromeda, Dylan and Beka try to discover what has happened to Tyr.

I rather enjoyed this episode; it gave us some good character development for Tyr and some for Beka, even though her role is fairly small. Keith Hamilton Cobb is on good form as Tyr; in some scenes showing quiet menace to those confronting him in another bellowing who he is as his memory returns. Guest star Linnea Sharples also really impresses as Yvaine. There are some decent action scenes, mostly fights between Tyr and antagonistic locals and other Nietzscheans. Many episodes have omitted one main character but here there was no sign of Trance, Harper or Rev Bem, apart from very brief flashback scenes, and even Rommie's appearance was fairly small; this didn't affect the episode though as this was very much Tyr's story. Overall a solid story centred on a single main character.
