Death for love...
gordonl561 January 2007
It is the last stages of the Red takeover of the Chinese mainland. Two U.S. Air Force officers are picking the last of the refugees for the last 3 seats on the last plane out. Into their office wanders Dorothy Malone who flutters her lashes at the senior officer in order to get a seat. Ed Binns plays the officer. The two spend the night together and Binns is hooked. Robert Vaughn, plays the other pilot who points out that her name is on a list of possible Red spies. However, Binns is smitten and won't hear any of it. Vaughn goes to Malone and tells her that Binns' career will be finished if she does turn out to be a Red. What shall she do? Nothing new here at all. It is just a standard fallen woman doing the right thing plot. This type of story was worn out long time before this was made. Interesting though to see Malone on the small screen only a few years after her Oscar win. OK rainy night's entertainment.(b/w)
