Anyone born prior to 1955 should remember this short-lived series, assuming you or your parents owned a TV and you were allowed to stay up late enough to catch the show, which ran late Friday evenings. The show only ran a dozen or so episode before being canceled, and I only caught a few of the episodes. Written by folks like Larry "It's Alive" Cohen and hosted tongue-in-cheek by famed author Roald Dahl (remember the story about the woman who kills her husband with a frozen turkey and then cooks it to dispose of the evidence?), the show was actually scarier than THE OUTER LIMITS. This episode is the only one I remember even faintly. A man dons horror face makeup (Lon Chaney's Quasimodo, to be exact), commits a dastardly deed, and then cannot remove the makeup. Master makeup artist Dick Smith of "The Exorcist" fame did the makeup for this and all other episodes. For a small cost, you can see all of the show's episodes in NYC (see elsewhere for details). I plan on doing so someday, assuming this never goes to DVD.
