Wonderful Memory
opreskajohn29 November 2006
I taped this from television the night it occurred and subsequently, transferred it to DVD. This was a wonderful event, a once in a lifetime experience. I especially enjoyed hearing the New York Philharmonic play the final section of the Mahler Second Symphony, with Zubin Mehta conducting. But hearing Sinatra sing and watching him interact not only with the audience, but also with the band; seeing Leonard Bernstein conduct an original composition (remember, this was a year or so before he died), and all the rest made this an unforgettable moment in time. I only wish that a professional DVD were available. It was such a fine program.
