Happy Trails Bomber

Warning: Spoilers
First its a terrible shame that Bomber one of the original Magnificent 7 is absent, its incredibly sad that the actor Pat Roach got cancer and died before the show was broadcast. I would like to express my sincere condolences, to his family and friends he is much missed by everyone.

The last ever mini Series and writers Clement & La Frenais have certainly been imbibing, the same noxious substance that had Barry hallucinating in Cuba in Series 4.

Part 1 is not exactly a car crash but for the last 2 Episode Series, they are packing in the stuff into just the 1st Episode.

The lads Embassy contracts have landed them into one in Africa, which is under siege by local rebels and they have to be airlifted out. Of course Oz has to be the one to say "I'll take the next one", when Den tells him "the first chopper is here to take us out".

But what was the point in starting the Episode with this brief scene, when it ended with an explosion just when Oz got the only action he is ever interested in?

Then we leap forward to yet another Embassy in of all places Laos, and how much time is supposed to have elapsed in the meantime?

And the next we see of Oz the talk is of him barely escaping Africa with shrapnel up his arris, while "sheltering an Embassy official".

Barry remains the perpetual Brummie "Radish" for having had, a rapprochement with his ex Tatiana, certainly no fool like an old fool.

And why is it always him that gets into lumbar, umpteen times with various nicks and now hijacked by bandits?

Bomber was married with kids from the West Country one of his daughters, was even seen in the very first series of the show. When she sort of run away from home and, winded up having to be virtually rescued in Germany.

So how come he ended up living in the states staying behind, in Arizona with his 'new family'?

And who the hell are they and where did they Spring from? What ever happened to his old family, where did they all suddenly disappear to?

Bomber was an integral part of The Team from the very commencement, of the show where they left Blighty behind for Germany.

Right through to the end of Cuba Embassy Gig where they all, sat on the dock of the bay reminiscing about old times.

No mention was made about his family's old or new, now suddenly "every English man must have a shed even if its in Arizona"

Au Revoir: Part 1

The BBC once they got their hands on Auf Wiedersehen, Pet did not rest on their laurels. Two full series and this final two part special all in a space of two years.

The magnificent seven have continued doing building work for British Embassies. However they have had to flee an african country following riots by a local militia where Oz sustains an injury to his posterior while having it off in the danger zone.

The boys end up in Laos where they are seconded to the Australian Embassy. Luckily, being in Laos means they are also near Bangkok and Neville bumps into an old foe from Cuba.

Writers Ian La Frenais & Dick Clement have a punchy writing style who really understand the humour of the boys. However the plot is not so strong with Barry being reunited with his estranged wife Tatiana and they Barry ends up going missing.

Sadly actor Pat Roach is missing from this two part special. He was suffering from cancer and died before the show was broadcast. There is a letter read out written by Bomber, a sad sentimental moment.
