great doc featuring Hunter S Thompson!!

Warning: Spoilers
I can honestly say that this is one of the most satisfying documentaries I have ever seen. At times very lighthearted and at others very touching....this film seeks to answer the question "what is the American dream and can it still be found, in America?"

I am not so sure the dream is still alive after watching this movie, however, the journey that sought to answer that question is well worth it.

Hunter S Thompson plays a pivotal role in the film....once he arrives on scene all bets are off and we are squarely in Hunter territiory for the duration of his screen time. (much to my delight, as I was unaware of his presence in the film) :)

The bonus features on the DVD are well worth checking out, especially the extra Hunter S Thompson bit.

In closing....this is a must see film for any and all Hunter fans out there.....trust me. This is how documentaries should be made.

Senseless Drivel

Warning: Spoilers
Its clear that Mr. Liley while being a film maker....is quite far from being a journalist. This "documentary" is utter diarrhea. Its seems like something a 14 year old would come up with after seeing Fear and Loathing in las Vegas and getting a rich retarded uncle to fund the project.

A Canadian searching for the American dream i can:t imagine a stupider more senseless premise. His weak attempts at humor are more irritating than funny. I think what he learned most of all from this awful film is that nobody in America gives a damn.

Liley has such a weak screen presence that at times i forget what and why i:m watching something that looks like it was filmed in the 80's.

This nonsense seems like what every college kid felt like they should do after watching watching bowling for columbine and this is precisely the quality that they would have come up with.

Obviously this guy is a huge hunter Thompson and Micheal Moore fan and somehow had the resources to show the world how unoriginal and tactless he is.

Excuse me while i go vomit

Hunter Thompson is an exceptional man, the only respectable part of this film is during his presence and even then Liley manages to annoy him and embarrass himself and all Canadians.
