A new exposé from Rolling Stone is ripping the lid off “The Kelly Clarkson Show” to reveal an allegedly “toxic” atmosphere behind the scenes of the feel-good daytime chat-fest.
Since making its debut in 2019, Kelly Clarkson’s daytime show has been a hit with viewers, thanks to the “American Idol” alum’s easygoing charm and her viral “Kellyoke” song performances that open each episode.
However, several staffers on the show — one currently employed there and 10 who have moved on — describe a “toxic environment” behind the scenes, claiming that they are “overworked, underpaid, and that working at the show was traumatizing to their mental health.”

No hairstylist has been more instrumental in shaping the looks of African American actors and actresses for television and film of the last 10 years than Lawrence Davis, one of the most sought-after talents in his field. His skill alone doesn’t account for why Davis has worked on more than 80 movies and TV series — in addition to winning two Emmys — his real talent lies in how he uses his craft in a critical, and often underestimated role in the visual storytelling of a film or TV series. “It’s a key element of defining a character for an actor because hair is a language too, especially for Black people,” said Mahershala Ali, who brought Davis onto “Green Book” and “True Detective” to collaborate with to establish his characters. “It’s hard to overstate the value of — or at least how — African Americans express something about themselves through how they chose to wear their hair.

Former “America’s Next Top Model” judge Jay Manuel is penning a book inspired by his time on the hit reality show, Variety has learned exclusively.
The novel, titled, “The Wig, The Bitch & The Meltdown,” published by Wordeee, will be released this on Aug. 3.
“America’s Next Top Model” has recently been in the headlines, facing criticism for out-of-touch commentary that has not aged well with viewers calling out the show for racial insensitivity and body shaming on social media, thanks to renewed interest in “Top Model,” in light of quarantine-enhanced binging on Hulu and Amazon Prime.
Despite the resurgence of the “America’s Next Top Model” in the pop-culture zeitgeist — for better or for worse — Manuel, who spent 18 seasons on the series as the creative director, has been working on his novel since 2014.

Benny Medina, the TV producer and music manager whose clients include Jennifer Lopez and formerly Will Smith and Mariah Carey, will not be charged by the Los Angeles District Attorney in an alleged 2004 sexual assault.
The case was declined by the L.A. D.A.’s entertainment sexual assault task force Friday owing to the statue of limitations, according to the charge evaluation worksheet, and that the unnamed alleged victim recently died. No other information was given in the report.
This is a different incident from one that came to light in November, when Sordid Lives: The Series actor Jason Dottley claimed in a story published in The Advocate that Medina attempted to rape him in 2008 at the producer-manager’s Los Angeles mansion. Medina, through his lawyers, denied the allegation.

On Tuesday afternoon, Cynthia Nixon vowed to fight for stricter gun-control laws, stand up for black voters, and support the legalization of marijuana in her first national TV interview since declaring her candidacy for governor of New York.
But what made the interview unique wasn’t what Nixon said. It was where she said it — on “The Wendy Williams Show,” during a 13-minute conversation due to air on Wednesday.
Appearing before a crowd of several hundred women in a loft-like studio in downtown Manhattan, Nixon was game to tackle serious and light questions on a daytime program that’s better known for celebrity news and gossip.
Williams proved that she could grill a political candidate with the same ease as her dishy conversations about the Kardashians or Tiger Woods. The host asked Nixon, who starred in “Sex and the City,” about the challenges associated with taking on Andrew Cuomo, a two-term Democrat.

The next winner of America's Got Talent is about to be crowned. However, the long-running reality competition has a more important decision on the horizon. While new host Tyra Banks started off the season as a passable, if boring, stand-in for Nick Cannon, her live show hosting performances have been a different story. The increased pressure of the live shows has created some increasingly bad outings by Tyra and Agt would be best off replacing her for season 13.

Tyra Banks is exiting her own daytime talk show FABLife after just two months. "This is a very difficult decision, but necessary," she tells The Hollywood Reporter, saying she'll instead be focusing on her beauty company. Banks will remain as an executive producer until December, but the lifestyle show (which debuted in September) reportedly won't replace her with another host. Other co-hosts include Chrissy Teigen, fashion editor Joe Zee, interior designer Lauren Makk, and Diy YouTuber Leah Ashley. FABLife had been billed as Banks's big return to daytime television since her Emmy-winning The Tyra Banks Show ended in 2010, but that hype will have to be short-lived. Banks, of course, is also approaching the potential end of America's Next Top Model, which may or may not see its final smize after its current cycle.

Tyra Banks was in the midst of a successful run hosting and executive producing her daytime talker The Tyra Banks Show, helming the wildly successful America’s Next Top Model and dabbling in other TV ventures when she realized everything was going so right … and felt terrifically wrong. “At that time in my career, I was probably the most successful, lucrative and relevant — everything in my life — and the most unhappy,” Banks admits. The model and entrepreneur opted to focus her energies on business school and taking Top Model worldwide — until her former Tyra colleague Lisa Hackner, … Continue reading →

Collins will still appear on the program for the rest of its summer run, before "The View" starts its hiatus in August.
"We've had so much fun hanging out with this young lady," Whoopi Goldberg said on Monday's show, calling Collins "amazing and very, very funny." It’s been a tough year for tragedy in Hollywood, and Jeffrey Ian Pollack died while jogging in Hermosa Beach, California on Monday (December 23).
The 54-year-old producer was found by a fellow jogger at 6:30am and initial reports suggest Pollack was in the midst of his usual morning exercise routine when he suddenly passed away.
Captain Tommy Thompson of the Hermosa Beach Police Department told press, “He was already deceased [when discovered]. He was very cold and had been there a bit.”
Thompson added, “It’s still unknown how he died. We’re not sure if it was a heart attack, but there were no signs of foul play.”
Jeffrey was responsible for introducing the world to Will Smith on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” and his credits also included “Booty Call,” “The Tyra Banks Show,” and “Lost and Found.”

This week we lost producer-director Jeff Pollack, who died suddenly while jogging in Hermosa Beach at the age of 54. Few knew him better than longtime friend and business partner Benny Medina. The two met at a card game in the 1980s and bonded over their mutual love of film, television and music. They went to create the format for the hit 1990 NBC comedy series The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, whose central character played by Will Smith was based on Medina. Three years later, they formed management/production company Medina/Pollack Entertainment, renamed Handprint Entertainment in 1995, with Smith as their first client. Pollack and Medina collaborated on a slew of film and TV projects, including the features Above the Rim, based on a story by the duo with Pollack directing, The Fighting Temptations and The Tyra Banks Show. While Handprint closed its doors in 2008, Pollack and Medina remained close. Here is...
