Something in the woods wants no visitors.

Warning: Spoilers
Conrad Glover writes, directs and stars in this tale of crime. A couple of not too bright thugs, Ray(Glover)and Dice(Christopher Farmer)are desperate for cash and decide to kidnap two rich girls, Sonia(Raine Brown)and Charisse(Nicholl Jones), figuring they could demand a high-dollar ransom. With an accomplice, ex-con Paco(Jaime Velez), the trio hide the girls in a secluded cabin in the woods. Where else? One of the girls is so cocky, she has the kidnappers paranoid. Wondering about getting caught or even being saved takes a backseat, when it becomes obvious there is an evil force that thinks it owns the woods. To be exact, it makes it well known that intruders are not welcome. Mediocre horror at best. Filmed in New Jersey and the R rating must come from the subject matter. Also in the cast: Mandy Beisel, Ray Breen, Rick Pascal and Robin Duford.

It's An Acquired Taste

Warning: Spoilers
This was bad but in an enjoyable way. The amateur feeling gave it that "old/low budget" horror feel which I actually kind of love and I'm sure many of you feel the same. A good amateur movie is rare but the ones that do exist are lovable from what I've noticed at least, and personally I wouldn't mind being in one despite it's amateur quality. The feeling of the movie wasn't that bad and the atmosphere it provided was better then expected and stayed during the entire movie. There weren't any issues with the plot and it was actually an interesting idea. The dialogue between characters matched the performance of each cast member so in my opinion it was written well considering the standard they had for this project. The only thing that I can really complain about is that the ending felt abrupt but in all honesty I'm not sure how I would have ended it either so my argument doesn't feel valid. Something I love to see with movies is the cast and crew having fun, and during the credits we actually get to see them behind the scenes doing just that. I have a lot of respect for this movie and others like it because it shows that you can have fun making a movie with a low budget which is probably how my future projects are going to be done.

I beg you, please run from this one!

Warning: Spoilers
Avoid this painfully bad film at all cost. Non-existent plot, irrelevant twists, and dialog and acting so hokey it could be a parody if it wasn't so hell bent on being taken seriously. Our killer is a wheezy fat guy with a hatchet, who also impales his victims on trees that move around pretty well for dead wood. The audio is mixed for s--t, with echo and whine all over the place. The 8 (EIGHT!!!) title cards at the beginning have no relevance to the story except we can assume the afore mentioned wheezy fat guy also killed those people. The problem, is that there is no connection to our stories's heroes, and the "secluded" woods they are in is lush with roads, and white picket fences. Minimal fx are hit and miss, ranging from decent to god awful. My favorite being the point blank gunshot murder with NO blood. Physics are amazing. Pass this turkey at all cost.

more like 'Suburbs Of Crap'

how many ways can one say 'garbage'? Woods Of Evil is so bad it's almost required watching for film students on how not to make a movie.

The story is just too dumb, the acting non-existent, the gore really fake, and the camera-work barely registering.

I will give credit for one thing. When we're first itnroduced to the main guy, he's seeing his probation officer, a MILF-ish Italian woman who should have been in the movie more. She was pretty hot.

But the wigger kid needed to be re-cast and the locations were hardly 'rural', as you could see houses off in the distance. It looked like they kept using the same little wooded area for every outdoor scene.

I also thought it was funny how the slasher was this slow-moving fat guy with a knife but these young slim people couldn't outrun him, or the geniuses they were, just shoot him. So much for being thugs. Next time, stay home, city-boy!

Strange film :)

This film is garbage at all. There is no doubt. I haven't understood why it is called "woods of evil". Actually there is no relation between woods and people who were killed by obscure evildoer. The main characters are strained and unnatural. They don't make you believe them. Only one thing is interesting it's the manner of photography. The picture looks like a documentary or home video and it adds some realistic to the movie, but few number of decorations turns all into the first dilettante experience in cinematography. If the actors played a little better any sense would appear to watch this film. It's kind of funny when smb was injured there was a feeling that the '911' service would come in a moment))

Inane indie slasher
Leofwine_draca27 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
WOODS OF EVIL is yet another entry in the indie slasher genre, a film which boils down to a bunch of characters running around in the woods while being attacked by an overweight killer. Don't expect any kind of budget to supply special effects of any kind; this is lame through and through, devoid of intent and purpose, content to imitate instead of innovate. For 95% of the film the running time consists of two or three characters sitting around and chatting in repetitive scenes that add absolutely nothing to the narrative.
