Magnolia Pictures will open The Eclipse, an exquisitely crafted supernatural drama from Tony Award-nominated Irish writer/director and playwright Conor McPherson on Friday, March 26th, in five cities across Southern California and in New York City, followed by a nationwide rollout in April. Just to reassure you -- this has nothing to do with The Twilight Saga, and we've got the stills and trailer to prove it!
Ciarán Hinds (Munich, There Will Be Blood), winner of the Best Actor award at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival for his performance in The Eclipse, stars opposite High Fidelity's Iben Hjejle and Aidan Quinn (soon to be seen in Jonah Hex) in this engrossing story of love, loss, and one man’s need to begin life again.
Synopsis:
Michael Farr (Hinds) is a widower living in a misty Irish seaside town who is struggling to adjust to his new role as the sole caretaker of his two children.

In the last week I have got so many emails, phone calls and messages asking, "Why haven't you spoken out on Lionsgate and The Midnight Meat Train Dollar Theater Scandal?" No one associated with the film wants to officially go on record with the true reason as to why, but to me it is plain and simple. It isn't a mainstream film. It is completely normal for films to have a limited release and then go on to DVD, when the studio thinks they will lose money on a wider release. Sometimes the films do better than expected (either because of a lot of hype or because the film is actually good) and move on to a wider release. But, none of that is the reason for all the hysteria over The Midnight Meat Train. The number one complaint is because the film is being released to discount second run...

'People Who marry for money have the hardest job. You don't get the money. You just get to look at it!" This is a line from Paul Schrader's 2007 movie "The Walker." It's uttered by none other than the living legend Lauren Bacall. This movie played a lot of festivals last year, had a limited run in the Us last December, and its DVD has just been released in Iceland, of all places! (Hey, us regular movie-goers would like to see it.)
Woody Harrelson plays the actual "walker" in this movie,...

New York -- Fox Business Network announced Tuesday that Wall Street Journal technology columnist Walter Mossberg would appear weekly on the channel.
Mossberg's technology segment, that will not be branded as the Wall Street Journal, will appear Thursday mornings on the hour co-anchored by Dagen McDowell and Brian Sullivan. This is one of several appearances by Wall Street Journal staff on Fox Business Network, which had been thought to be prevented in the beginning from having regular appearances by Journal staffers due to an agreement between archrival Cnbc and Dow Jones before the latter was acquired by News Corp.
While that's still in effect, there have been multiple reports that News Corp. executives have said that the agreement doesn't preclude everything. That was confirmed Tuesday by a Fox Business Network executive.
"The Cnbc agreement covers only branded business news segments. Breaking news, non-business news and things like the personal technology reviews that Walt does are not covered by it," Fox News executive vp Kevin Magee said Tuesday.
Also appearing on Fbn have been Monica Langley, Wall Street Journal deputy Washington bureau chief; Teri Ains, senior fashion writer; Washington regular senior editor Joseph White; Gerald Seib, executive Washington editor; and Greg Ip, Robert Frank and John Bussey.
