Yes You Can (1980-1983)

This was a live sports show for children and it was produced by CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) in 1980-1983, and there were about 13 episodes. In this series featured educations on certain sport events and has professional athletes as guest stars and they would teach Trevor Bruneau and Tammy Bourne the skills about the sports that these athletes do. In this show featured "Coach Cuddles Ford" (Patrick Ford) in scenes such as "Food Hint" about how many calories there is in a food the Cuddles is eating with enough food energy to do his own sport event for a period of time, and he also did "Coaching Tips" showing skills about different sporting events and would end up getting injured in a comic way and be driven away in an ambulance to see the doctor. "Kevin Gillis" however, would play his guitar and sometimes with his harmonica signing ("You Can Do It, Yes You Can, and You Can Too").

In the late 70s and early 80s, there came some wonderful TV shows. Some were memorable, and some were not.

This is a FANTASTIC TV show which my family and I watched then, and later, in reruns. We all LOVE Kevin and the gang, but are sad this show is no longer on the air. We got to see some future stars, such as a youthful Wayne Gretzky, who never had an inkling how big they would be. Fortunately, they were still at a stage where the show producers could get them.

I have been fortunate to capture a few shows on tape. I only wish I knew where to get this fabulous series on DVD.
