Last summer, a report that Ben Affleck was spotted on the set of Marvel Studios' Deadpool and Wolverine did the rounds online.
Since it had already been confirmed that the R-rated threequel would include a bit of Multiversal madness and a few cameos (we now know it'll be more than a few), this understandably led to speculation that Affleck might be set to make an appearance as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, and the news that Jennifer Garner's Elektra will be involved only added fuel to the fire.
Affleck returning as the Man Without Fear always did seem unlikely, since the actor has never looked back particularly fondly on his time as the Hell's Kitchen vigilante That said, he's always had a sense of humor about it at the same time, so a fun cameo wouldn't have been too big a stretch.
Now, Daniel Richtman is reporting that Affleck definitely won't...

Zack Snyder’s Dceu received praise for its boldness but also faced criticism, particularly for actor choices and creative liberties with the source material.
In a recent interview with Happy, Sad, Confused, Snyder expressed his determination to continue despite the Dceu’s reboot. He still has his sights set on several comic book movies he’d like to tackle.
During the interview, Snyder disclosed that he came close to directing the Wolverine movie but remains open to the idea, asserting he “could for sure do that.” However, finding the right actor poses a challenge, a sentiment many would agree with.
Surprisingly, he expressed interest in adapting Elektra to live-action. Despite the character’s appearance in previous projects, Elektra’s solo movie was poorly received and nearly derailed Jennifer Garner’s career. Additionally, Snyder reiterated his readiness to direct ‘The Dark Knight Returns.’

Zack Snyder’s Dceu was praised for many things, first and foremost being bold, but it was also more often than not criticized. Both for the choices of actors and for the creative freedoms he took with the source material.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is generating significant anticipation as one of the most exciting upcoming projects in the MCU. Scheduled for release in 2024, it’s already drawing praise from those who have seen previews, with expectations high for its impact on the franchise’s reputation.
As with any highly anticipated project, rumors abound regarding potential cameos, variants, and plot elements, with some confirmations, such as Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, and others still under speculation, supported by mounting evidence. To provide clarity, let’s explore the confirmed and rumored cameos and variants expected in the film.
Aaron Stanford – John Allerdyce/Pyro (Confirmed)
Aaron Stanford’s return was initially speculated, along with a few other minor X-Men villains, though his appearance was later confirmed in the trailer. While he only briefly appears on screen, his unmistakable costume leaves no doubt about his identity. Earlier this year, he had denied any involvement in the movie.

Zack Snyder is almost synonymous with DC Universe, with the legacy of his Snyderverse titles, including Man of Steel. But the director might be in talks for his possible association with DC rival Marvel Studios.

Snyder has certainly elevated the essence of DC Studios before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the DC Universe to revamp the entirety of it. Now, Snyder’s association with the company has ended, and his return to the studio is very unlikely.

Deadpool & Wolverine is one of the most talked about project to be released this year. With fans deeming it to be the savior of the MCU after the franchise’s dreadful run in the last few years, the upcoming movie has a lot to prove. But given the impact and success of the Ryan Reynolds starrer so far, it’s a more or less safe to bet on the movie. And with Hugh Jackman joining the fray, things are only looking up.
Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson in Deadpool & Wolverine
The movie is expected to have quite a few camoes, with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Jennifer Garner’s Elektra already confirmed. Deadpool is supposedly going to travel across timelines and meet various mutants as well as variants of himself. The movie already features Dogpool, which we already know is going to be an absolute hoot. But let...

Deadpool & Wolverine Footage Reaction: Wade Wilson Brings R-Rated Raunch To The MCU [CinemaCon 2024]
Deadpool, the foul-mouthed pansexual super-anti-hero played by perpetual smart-aleck Ryan Reynolds, is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). That alone feels like pretty mind-blowing stuff, but he's also bringing back Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who appeared to have hung up his adamantium claws after "Logan" in 2017. In the upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine," hitting theaters on July 26, 2024, the Merc with the Mouth will join the MCU courtesy of some timeline-bending shenanigans ala the Disney+ series "Loki," and the first teaser trailer hints at just how that all happens. Unfortunately, we don't get to see much of Morena Baccarin's Vanessa or Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and we have no idea how Jennifer Garner's Elektra Natchios from 2003's "Daredevil" factors into things, but thankfully now we've got a bit more information on the McU's first R-rated movie.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is poised to be a significant release this year for multiple reasons. Firstly, it marks Deadpool’s debut in the MCU, something fans have eagerly anticipated since the inception of the MCU. Secondly, it’s part of a new strategy aimed at rebuilding fan confidence in the franchise and the studio.
For months, there have been reports from individuals who have seen parts of the film, suggesting it could be a game-changer for the MCU. Some plot details have been leaked, along with the first glimpse of the villain Cassandra Nova, portrayed by Emma Corrin.
There’s been discussion about numerous cameos expected in the movie, primarily from Fox’s X-Men franchise and other superhero films not directly linked to the MCU, such as Garner’s Elektra. First, the movie is Deadpool’s first foray into the MCU, something that fans have been asking for, well, since the MCU existed. The upcoming MCU show, ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ is highly anticipated. It will fully integrate Daredevil into the MCU and serve as a soft reboot for the character. While much of the story remains unknown, we do know that Murdock will establish a new law firm and intersect with Wilson Fisk, who is campaigning for mayor of New York.
The show faced challenges during development, including nearly being scrapped despite filming more than half of the episodes. Following the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike, the show took a new direction, with many actors from Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ reprising their roles. Elden Henson’s Foggy, Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen, and Bernthal’s Punisher are set to return, with rumors suggesting Élodie Yung’s Elektra may also make an appearance.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is the hottest upcoming MCU show. The show will finally merge Daredevil completely with the MCU and will serve kind of like a soft reboot of the character. The story is in large part unknown. We know that Murdock will be starting a new law firm, and will along the way cross paths with Wilson Fisk, as he is running for the mayor of New York.
The show has been through a lot over the course of development, including being almost completely scrapped at the point where more than half of the episodes were already filmed. The show took on a new direction following the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike with plenty of actors from Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ reprising their roles. Elden Henson’s Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen are going to make a grand return to the show, as well as Bernthal’s Punisher.

Jennifer Garner was known for portraying the superhero Elektra in both Daredevil and her titular film. But before she nabbed the role, Stana Katic had her eyes set on the character as well.

Katic is no stranger to superhero projects. She’s voiced some of comic books’ most iconic characters across a few forms of media. “I think she’s like a female superhero on television, and we’re slowly exploring more and more of that,” Katic once told Collider. “She’s got a tremendous amount of integrity. I’ve gotten to do more stunts lately, which is really cool.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is currently the most anticipated MCU movie, and it’s the only one slated for release in 2024 as of now. So, people are eagerly looking forward to the movies coming out in 2024. However, figuring out exactly how many movies are releasing this year has become a bit confusing.

Are you ready to accept Wade Wilson as your Lord and Savior? We've come a long way from Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool getting his mouth sewn shut for reasons only "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" director Gavin Hood can fathom (and even he would probably just shrug if you asked him). Now, 15 years after the Merc with a Mouth made his inauspicious live-action debut, the character is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to "Deadpool & Wolverine," a film that sees him reunited with his former costar Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The latter had ostensibly hung up his claws for good after starring in James Mangold's elegiac "Logan," but the chance for a proper team-up with Reynolds (plus the opportunity to finally don Wolvie's fabled yellow super suit) was just too much for Jackman to pass on. That and Disney surely unloaded a dump truck's worth of money into his driveway.

Recent reports suggest that for Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s next team-up outing, Jennifer Garner may be in talks to star in it. News of the impending crime thriller ‘Animals,’ slated to release on Netflix, surfaced last month. It was said that the Justice League alum would be at the helm, with Damon putting his acting chops on display.
What was being touted as another classic on-screen reunion between the long-time friends now boasts an intriguing (potential) addition to the cast.

The actress is reportedly still in negotiations to grace the initiative. The deal is yet to be finalized. The next film to be directed by Ben Affleck, the crime thriller Animals, could be about to star Jennifer Garner as well as Matt Damon.
Having released the Nike-makes-a-shoe drama Air last year, Ben Affleck is set to embark on his next directing project. He’s busy setting up Animals, a crime drama in which Matt Damon will star as a mayoral candidate whose son is kidnapped.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Garner is in talks to play Damon’s wife in the film. As previously reported, the otherwise undisclosed plot will contain plenty of intrigue – and perhaps a bit of violence: “Surrounded by plenty of enemies, political and otherwise, the husband and wife have no choice but to get their hands dirty in order to save their son,” is how THR describes it.
Over his career as a director, Affleck has tended to gravitate to crime thrillers of one sort or another.

Deadpool 3 has its official title: Deadpool & Wolverine. The first teaser trailer for the movie hit the internet during Super Bowl Lviii, giving superhero film fans their first glimpse at the wackiness it will offer.
One of the biggest reveals from the trailer was confirmation of the longstanding rumor that the Time Variance Authority would appear in the movie. The Time Variance Authority (or Tva for short) is the temporal enforcement organization seen in the Disney+ Loki series, which ensures time flows as it should in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Most people assume Deadpool and Wolverine will be tasked with killing rogue variants of live-action Marvel characters who deviated from the Sacred Timeline. However, a new theory by the YouTube channel New Rockstars suggests they’ll be tasked with fixing the lousy writing and plot holes in various live-action Marvel Studios and Fox superhero films.

Can Deadpool save the MCU? At one point, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was considered to be a sure thing — it was unbeatable. But recently, the MCU has faltered with diminishing box office returns and films and TV shows that just don't quite live up to the hype of yesteryear. Now, here comes "Deadpool and Wolverine," a film that might change everything. For one thing, this will be the character's first official entrance into the MCU since Disney bought Fox. For another, "Deadpool and Wolverine" will be the first R-rated film in the MCU, which is bound to be a big deal to some folks who want Marvel to push the envelope. And then there's the fact that Hugh Jackman is returning to the role of Wolverine after giving the character an emotional swan song in "Logan."
On top of all these things is the realization that "Deadpool and Wolverine" is...

Although its hard to feel bad for noted movie star, mobile phone magnate, gin baron Ryan Reynolds, there is a bit of irony to the fact that the handsome actor’s breakout role forces him to play a man with a mangled body. Fortunately for Reynolds, the Merc With a Mouth’s first adventure in the MCU involves the hit franchise’s conceit de jour, the multiverse.
So when he and Wolverine, played once again by Hugh Jackman, but in comics/cartoon accurate yellow spandex, come to the MCU in this summer’s Deadpool 3, they’ll be doing so alongside a bunch of variants. And at least one of those Wade Wilson variants will be very handsome.

Monday Am writethru: Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and he’s delivering the motion picture industry a $9 billion-plus year at the domestic box office, a feat many thought was unimaginable with the lack of a mega-tentpole over the holiday, coupled by a Q4 impacted by the double strikes. The numbers were compiled from Comscore data and Deadline calculations. Comscore called 2023 at $9.03 billion yesterday.
It was a diversified crop of family and adult films over the holidays that got us there, including Warner Bros’ trifecta of Wonka (which is leading the four-day New Year’s box office with $30M), Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (4-day $23.5M), and The Color Purple ($15M 4-day), as well as adult movies like The Boys in the Boat ($11.2M 4-day) and even YA romantic comedy Anyone But You ($11M 4-day).

Deadpool 2 started off by making the mistake of killing Deadpool / Wade Wilson’s girlfriend Vanessa, played by Morena Baccarin – then it, thankfully, used time travel shenanigans to erase that mistake by the end of the film. So Baccarin is reprising the role for the upcoming sequel Deadpool 3, which is still in production. While speaking to Screen Rant, Baccarin revealed that her work on Deadpool 3 is finished… and that the film keeps things fresh by reinventing Wade and Vanessa’s relationship.
Baccarin said, “I think it’s really cool that they are such well-met characters and that their lives… You can see them in and out of each other’s lives constantly. The comic, it’s the same way. So I think that the franchise and Ryan and the director, they’ve done a really great job of always reinventing that relationship and making it interesting, but maintaining...

Few directors have had as complicated of a relationship with comic book movies than Zack Snyder. While critics have never really latched onto his work, Snyder developed a following with 300 and Watchmen (especially the director’s cut). When he made the move to bigger budget DC fare, the movies – Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Justice League – just didn’t hit the mark as far as what the iconic characters deserved. And while he still maintains friendships with his DC cast – no matter the controversy – Zack Snyder may very well be done with the supehero genre for good. Unless…

While picking up his “pen” for a first-person essay in Esquire magazine, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy revealed he’d constructed an elaborate tribute to Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi for the upcoming superhero threequel. According to Levy, he’s recreated pivotal scenes from the Richard Marquand-directed classic in Deadpool 3, with an intense attention to detail.
“I vividly remember the scene in which Luke is hiding from Vader in the Emperor’s room and Vader gives the speech that ends with ‘If you will not turn to the dark side, then perhaps your sister will,'” Levy wrote in his guest feature for Esquire. “It was dead quiet [in the theater]. Pin-drop silence. Suddenly Vader has pushed the wrong button. Luke comes screaming out of the shadows and just goes to town in a light saber battle against Vader. Once upon a time, superhero aficionados had to get their fix in the pages of comic books. On rare occasions, the adventures of those heroes were taken to the screen, with characters like Captain America and Batman starring in serialized adventures as early as the 1940s. The colorful camp of the "Batman" TV series in the '60s brought comic books to new mainstream popularity, setting the stage for the rise of blockbuster comic book movies in the late 20th century. Now, multiplexes are bursting with superhero movies, a genre that has grown to become one of Hollywood's most lucrative; in fact, four of the top 10 highest-grossing movies of all time have their roots in the pages of comics.
Of course, hit films inevitably breed sequels, and films featuring Iron Man, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Superman, Batman and various other super-powered types with "man" in their names have habitually returned for various big-screen adventures.

Since superhero movies became mainstream, there have been a lot of actors who were perfectly cast as the characters they played, but only a few of them were such perfect castings that not even the studios are daring to replace them, at least not yet. Hugh Jackman is certainly one of those actors. This legendary Wolverine actor debuted as Logan in 2000’s ‘X-Men,’ back when he wasn’t such a known name.
Jackman eventually proved that he was born to play Wolverine, and he played the character for 17 years, which earned him the Guinness World Record for “longest career as a live-action Marvel character.” Although Jackman announced that 2017’s ‘Logan’ is his last movie in which he portrayed Wolverine, it was obvious that the character of Wolverine would need to return eventually to the big screen, particularly after Marvel Studios reacquired the rights to the character in 2019. In the film, in which Ryan Reynolds’ “merc with a mouth” teams up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, the latter wears the character’s original yellow X-Men costume from the comics, made even more iconic in the popular the 1990s-era “X-Men” Saturday morning cartoon.
“It also helps that I’m making this movie within the MCU, so I have access to an army of the nerdiest nerds available to a Marvel project.”
“Like the rest of the world, I’ve waited two decades to see Wolverine in a whole movie with Deadpool, and I don’t know if this is our last shot at Wolverine on screen, so I...

As we are all anticipating ‘Deadpool 3,’ it really reminds us of how, back in early 2022, we were all anticipating ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ and there were literally countless theories about special returns in cameos that were reportedly bound to happen in the movie. In the end, the second ‘Doctor Strange’ movie had its fair share of surprises, but some of the rumored special cameos, such as Tom Cruise’s Superior Iron Man, didn’t happen in the end.
The upcoming ‘Deadpool 3’ is also set to deal with the concept of the Multiverse, but in a Deadpool sort of way, of course. To save us from theories and unconfirmed rumors, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman immediately announced that Jackman would surely return as the Wolverine, and Jennifer Garner’s return as Elektra was also confirmed last July. With Elektra’s return confirmed, some fans started wondering...

Ryan Reynolds’ career rose to entirely new heights after 2016 when he started playing the comic-accurate Deadpool. Even he would like to forget that first attempt to adapt the character in 2009’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ as well as that badly-received ‘Green Lantern’ movie in which he played Hal Jordan. Thankfully, Deadpool fixed the timeline in the post-credit scene of ‘Deadpool 2’ and erased those two superhero roles Reynolds previously played from existence, or we like to pretend that he did, that is.
Reynolds played a lot of other roles in the last few years, but basically, every role of his now is very Deadpool-ish, only without a red spandex and a bit more family-friendly in some cases. However, that Deadpool charm is what makes Reynolds so beloved and popular among his fans, and everyone is excited to see more of his punchlines, great deliveries, and fourth-wall-breaking scenes in the upcoming ‘Deadpool 3.

‘Deadpool 3’ is currently one of the most anticipated superhero movies at this point for a good number of reasons. Apart from the fact that the previous two ‘Deadpool’ movies were equally successful in critical and commercial ways, the upcoming third installment already has many officially announced surprises, and the movie doesn’t try to hold many secrets like ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ which tried to hide the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, which ultimately turned out to be Hollywood’s worst kept secret.
When he first officially talked about ‘Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds didn’t hold back.’ He immediately announced Hugh Jackman’s return as the Wolverine in the next movie, and although the plot is officially kept under wraps, many details have already surfaced. Thanks to Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking ability, we know that the movie will surely deal with Disney’s acquisition of Fox and how Deadpool,...
