Parents Guide for
Shrek 2 (2004) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Needing Pinocchio to lie so that his nose will grow and enable others to rescue Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots, he's told to say that he's wearing ladies underwear. He does, but his nose doesn't grow. When he then lies about wearing them, his nose grows and one of the characters comments on him wearing a thong (that's briefly pulled up).

Violence & Gore

Puss in Boots races at and jumps on Shrek, digging at him with his claws (no blood). Donkey tries to kick the cat, but instead gets Shrek in the crotch, doubling him over in pain (and he makes a verbal reference to being hit in the testicles).

Profanity

At least 1 ass (a double reference to a donkey and an obnoxious person). 2 uses of 'bloody' by the Fairy Godmother

During the spoof of "Cops," we see knights arresting Puss in Boots and finding catnip on him (he claims it's not his in a drug bust joke).
