The late Pier Paolo Pasolini appears in this TV film by Andreas Andermann, but only in words spoken on the soundtrack as an evocation of his spirit by Yevgeny Yevtushenko at the site where the poet film-maker was murdered in 1975. The film is actually a documentary that records the First World Festival of Poetry given in Ostia, a Roman beach resort, in 1979. The event appears more chaotic than illuminating. Film buffs familiar with Nanni Moretti's CARO DIARIO will recall a similar evocation of the spirit of Pasolini in that film.
