A Lovely Tribute
telegonus7 October 2002
This film is a lovely tribute to America's favorite singing cowboy. I am not a fan of Mr. Autry or of musical westerns, yet I found this short movie to be heartfelt and beautifully made, evoking the bygone era of the saturday afternoon Bijou to perfection. Johnny Cash was the right man to narrate it. There's an overwhelming, almost mournful air of lost innocence at the end that should brings tears to the eyes of anyone old enough,--even barely--to remember the period this film is about. I recommend it highly to anyone interested in American film history.
