CBC Marketplace found that some healthy-sounding food from popular restaurant chains - Boston Pizza, Earls Kitchen + Bar, Joey Restaurants, Milestones Grill and Bar, Jack Astor's Bar and Grill, and Kelseys Original Roadhouse - contain high amounts of sodium, some even exceeding Health Canada's recommended daily limit. In Canada, this information isn't listed on the menu in a restaurant.

Venues in Niagara Falls falsely claim that the a tourist fees are a tax that goes to the business owner. Unlike previous years that Marketplace previously investigated, the fees are now presented as mandatory, and have gone up. "The Perfect Gift," run by the People's Trust Company, charges a $3 service monthly service fee on its Visa and Mastercard branded gift cards, a year after activation. Hidden palm oil in common products. Dog DNA services provide questionable results. One brand, Accu-metrics, reports that a pure bred, prize-winning Great Dane was a Chihuahua, simply because CBC said so in the questionnaire. DNA My Dog and Accu-metrics both identify host Travis Danraj as a dog.
