Very nice art but the message was a bit heavy-handed

This is a very well animated cartoon that was sponsored by the National Film Board of Canada. Like many of their animated films, this one was part of a series dedicated to illustrating the UN's commitment to human rights and I am sure this video was warmly embraced by all nations and generated world peace...for about 2 seconds! Then, people went back to being jerks.

The film is about conflict resolution and features two cute gophers. One accidentally kicks dirty on another one and soon they start fighting. Eventually, however, they learn together and all is well...until a cute ending. As for me, I would have preferred to watch Mack and Tosh--the Warner Brothers gopher twins.

As you may have guessed from my comment above, working out problems peacefully is wonderful--too bad the UN rarely has anything to do with it! On top of my cynicism, the film also comes off as a tad heavy-handed and I really wish it didn't.
