- Unlike other Scooby-Doo films, where the monsters appear cartoonish and comedic, the appearance of the ghosts and zombies in this film is legitimately terrifying, at least by children's movie standards.
- This was the first direct to video Scooby-Doo and unlike it's predecessors, the tone of this one will get extremely dark and unsettling.

- The three main villains in the film get disintegrated at the end of the film, somewhat brief but still pretty graphic to see their bones with flesh melted off their body.
