Taiwan-Japan documentary After the Snowmelt and Filipino fantasy feature Mother Maybe were presented with the Taicca X Cnc Awards at the close of the pitching forum at Taiwan Creative Content Fest (Tccf). Both awards came with a cash prize of $30,000.
Organized by Taiwan Creative Content Agency (Taicca), Tccf’s Pitching event handed out awards worth nearly $200,000. Taicca chairperson Homme Tsai said this was possible as the agency had “actively collaborated with South Korea, France, Japan and the three major telecommunications companies in Taiwan. Our goal is to provide creators with more funding while seeking additional international collaboration opportunities.”
Initially, the event had planned to only hand out one Taicca X Cnc Award, in partnership with French national film agency Cnc, but announced at the end of the ceremony that, due to the high quality of submissions, it would hand out two awards.

A review of tonight's "The Leftovers" coming up just as soon as I listen to a little Hall & Oates... "But there can't be any doubt, Laurie. Because doubt is fire. And fire is gonna burn you up, until you are but ash." -Patti Episode 3 of "The Leftovers" was the one most critics cited as the moment where they went all-in with the show, and the reaction from many of you suggested the same. Doing a single-pov story every week — especially one with as narrow a focus as "Two Boats and a Helicopter" — isn't an easy thing to pull off, nor does it seem like what Lindelof and Perrotta want to do, given the size and scope of the broken world they're depicting. But "Gladys" does a very effective job of splitting the difference between the tunnel vision of episode 3 and the broader ensemble pieces we've gotten in the other installments.

Sons of Anarchy’s season finale opened with Jax (Charlie Hunnam) sitting in the graveyard where Opie’s tombstone rests, scribbling in a journal he’s keeping for his sons. He wants them to know him, how much he loves them, writing it all down before the fateful day truly begins.
Sons of Anarchy Recap
While Jax continues to explain the bad things he’s done throughout his life and the growing sense of remorse that coincides with the realization that he needs the high-stakes lifestyle to feel alive, the rest of his crew and family were taking care of their own business. Juice (Theo Rossi) helps Tig (Kim Coates) and Chibbs (Tommy Flanagan) remove the recovering Bobby (Mark Boone Jr.) from the cabin. Wendy (Drea de Matteo) is packing up for a stint in rehab. Unser (Dayton Callie) is mourning Clay’s grave at the prison. Gemma (Katey Sagal) is washing dishes.

Chicago – Twentieth Century Fox has released a number of the best shows of their FX channel in the last month and we thought we’d cover them all in one review for one simple reason — you should get all three. FX continues to break new ground in television with “Sons of Anarchy,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” and “The League” and the most recent season of each is now available in beautiful HD.
Blu-ray Rating: 4.0/5.0
Showtime, HBO, USA, and AMC get more press, but FX has been a consistently essential part of the television landscape for the last decade. Whether it’s the remarkable drama of “The Shield,” the guilty pleasure of “Nip/Tuck,” or the dramatic rollercoaster of “Rescue Me,” they’ve helped redefine drama on basic cable. Their dramatic trajectory has continued with the excellent “Justified,” the recently-debuted “Terriers,” and what could arguably be deemed their most popular show right now,...
