You wouldn't know it from the film's lack of marketing, but a new movie called Black or White debuted in theaters today. Despite the presence of stars Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer, I've never seen a trailer or TV spot for the movie, which BoxOfficeMojo says is in over 1,000 theaters right now. (Apparently the film played at last year's Toronto International Film Festival and didn't receive very favorable reviews.) I don't ever plan on watching this film, but that doesn't mean that I can't come up with a tangentially-related article about it. Black or White got me thinking: what other movies share a title with a Michael Jackson song?
As far as ground rules go, there's really only one major one: the title of the movie and the song have to match exactly - if a word is possessive, I'm not making an exception. Exact matches or Gtfo. I'll embed...

Quick…name a favorable film where the landscape is run by (or at least partially include) the demographic of little people as part of the instrumental storyline? C’mon…it should not be that difficult, okay? If you want to mention say Darby O’Gill and the Little People then that would fine. How about Bad Santa or Poltergeist for that matter?
In That’s Good Enough, Short Stuff: Top Ten Films Featuring Little People we will take a look at some of the mini megastars that inhabited these movies and contributed their fair share of entertainment value to the on-screen proceedings. The debate as to whether some of these selected films featuring these pint-sized performers are considered positive, exploitative or dismissive are not up for discussion (although one of these considerations could apply in the minds of a few folks). Instead, we want to celebrate the inclusion of...

New York (AP) -- Will Katy Perry be a firework at the Super Bowl? Will she show them what she's worth? Will she let her colors burst? NFL announced late Sunday -- after rumors swirled for weeks -- that the pop star will headline the Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. It will air on NBC. Perry, 30, has dominated the Billboard charts since releasing her debut in 2008, including nine No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her sophomore effort, 2010's multiplatinum "Teenage Dream," matched the record Michael Jackson set with "Bad'' for most songs from a single album to hit No. 1 with five. Perry released "Prism," another platinum effort, last year. It includes the No. 1 smashes "Roar" and "Dark Horse."Are you excited to see Katy perform? Sound off below! Read more...

With weekend actuals reporting, Ouija narrowly held on to first place ahead of Nightcrawler over Halloween weekend. Meanwhile, Before I Go To Sleep and the Saw 10th anniversary re-release each bombed. The Top 12 earned just shy of $80 million, which makes this one of the slowest weekends of the year. That can partly be attributed to the "Halloween effect": moviegoers were preoccupied with other activities on Friday, which set the weekend back quite a bit. This is a chicken-and-egg sort of thing, though: fearing this Halloween effect, the big studios avoided the date entirely. Had someone stepped up to the plate with a broadly appealing offering, the aggregate box office wouldn't be nearly as low.Sunday estimates had Nightcrawler and Ouija tied with $10.9 million. Open Road Films had Nightcrawler earning $9,000 more than Ouija, though other sources suggested Ouija came out on top. When actuals reported on Monday actuals, Ouija had...

Thanks to a strong start in China, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles easily led the foreign box office this weekend. The movie earned $34.7 million, which brings its international total to $244 million. Most of that came from China, where Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opened in first place with an impressive $26.5 million. That's a bit higher than Thor: The Dark World, which debuted in China around the same time last year. The movie has now earned $434.5 million worldwide, and could eventually pass $500 million with help from Japan early next year. The Maze Runner also got off to a solid start in China this weekend. The movie opened to $13.7 million, which is roughly on par with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Overall, The Maze Runner added $23.8 million for a new total of $208.5 million; including its domestic revenue, the movie has now banked over $300 million worldwide.Gone Girl continued to impress at the international box...

Over the last full weekend in October, low-budget supernatural horror movie Ouija led the box office with $19.9 million.John Wick wound up in second place, while Bill Murray's St. Vincent did well in its nationwide expansion. The top 12 earned $103.2 million this weekend, which is up nine percent from last year. This caps off a very strong month at the box office: October 2014 is already the highest-grossing October ever, and still has five days left to add to its record-setting number.Playing at 2,858 theaters, Ouija took first place with $19.9 million. This is the second-biggest horror debut of the year ahead of January's Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones ($18.3 million); it's also above recent October releases Sinister ($18 million) and Carrie ($16.1 million). With its young cast, PG-13 rating, and pre-Halloween release date, Ouija was a strong option for teenage moviegoers. Wtf does Thot mean Btw?
Moms and dads, teachers, coaches, anyone who encounters teens or young adults on a regular basis, we sympathize with you. We thought we were with it, when we knew Omg and Brb. But now, we don’t know what kids are saying half the time. You talk to a teen and leave thinking “Wtf?” (because you know that one! Even though it’s naughty!)
No more. It’s time to decipher the youth speak. Here is a start:
1. Thot
What it means: Thot [thawt; noun] It’s actually an acronym that means “That Hoe Over There.” It can refer to anyone you don’t like or anyone who acts in a way you don’t agree with.
How to use it in a sentence: “Your Aunt Kim is acting like a real thot. She won’t email me back about Labor Day plans!”

X Factor's four wildcards will be revealed later this week and if we had our way, the Overs 25s golden ticket would be winging its way to one of this year's most talked about and controversial acts - Raign.
Loathed by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, she managed to defy the odds and an initial 'no' at the first audition to make it all the way to Boot Camp and even bagged a seat in the Six Chair Challenge.
However, despite winning in an untelevised sing-off, Raign ended up losing her chair and missed out on a spot at Judges' Houses. We gave the 31-year-old a call to find out what really went on with Cheryl, and whether she has a future in music or on The X Factor.
You are already making steps in the music industry. Why did you risk it all and go on The X Factor?

The period between Martin Scorsese films is routinely filled with several speculative reports trumpeting fascinating-sounding “next” projects. There’s his long-gestating Sinatra movie, his plans to unite Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci in The Irishman, and a biopic about the formative years of Teddy Roosevelt. Maybe they’ll get made someday; maybe not. His next concrete project is Silence, with Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver, which starts shooting next year—but another potential film project is already drawing attention.

So what went wrong with 'Trinity'? Rumors were rife of a tempestuous set, with Snipes at loggerheads with writer-turned-director David S Goyer and New Line over creative control. When it came out and flopped, was he disappointed? “I wouldn’t call it a disappointment. More of an expectation.” His reasons for this are pithy to the max. “Bad ingredients going in, bad cake coming out. If you’ve got sour milk going in your cake, you’re going to get sour cake.” A throaty laugh comes out. Lifted from a profile of the actor in the UK's Telegraph, this is the first substantive interview Wesley Snipes has given that I've read, since his exit from prison earlier this year. It’s a megalith!” Snipes said he would be "in a whole different ball game” with his career had he understood the potential of "Blade" as a franchise while he was working on those films. Many of us remember where we were on June 25th, 2009, the day that Michael Jackson tragically died of cardiac arrest as a result of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication.
And while we’re still sad to have lost him, the late King of Pop’s legacy will continue to live on forever through his music.
On the fifth anniversary of Jackson’s death, we celebrate his life with five amazing cover versions of his hits, proving that his influence is still strongly felt anywhere music is played.
1. “Bad” by Glee’s New Directions & Warblers- The title track from Jackson’s 1987 album served to distance him from his squeaky-clean image. And on the hit show “Glee,” the rivalry between the New Directions and the Warblers comes to a head with a parking garage cover reminiscent of the original music video. Darren Criss, Kevin McHale, Naya Rivera and Grant Gustin all take stellar solos as well.

Michael Jackson's new music video is here! The late singer has a brand new song titled "Love Never Felt So Good" that features Justin Timberlake. The video for the song hit Jackson's YouTube page this morning just one day after his latest album XScape was released. The vid features Timberlake singing and dancing along with a group of other hip-hop dancers. The 33-year-old former 'N Sync crooner recreates some of Jackson's famous dance moves while fans lip-synch along to the new jam. While Jackson doesn't make a hologram appearance in it (sorry, fans!), the video features clips from some of his most famous music videos, including "Thriller," "Beat It," "Bad"...

Michael Jackson lives on!Justin Timberlake stars alongside the King of Pop in the music video for their duet, "Love Never Felt So Good," and Ellen DeGeneres is giving fans an exclusive first look of the clip. In the music video, the "Mirrors" crooner and a group of back-up dancers moonwalk their way across several backdrops plucked from iconic Jackson videos, including "Thriller," "Bad" and "Billie Jean." Written by Jackson and Paul Anka back in 1983, the song is the debut single for "Xscape,"which was released May 13.The track was refreshed and re-worked by Epic Records Chairman L.A. Reid. In addition, the album features production by Rodney Jerkins, Timbaland, Stargate, Jerome "Jroc" Harmon and John McClain on songs recorded by Jackson between 1983 and 1999. We think this is a great homage to the late superstar! What do you of the music video? Sound off below. Read more...

The music video for the Michael Jackson posthumous duet with Justin Timberlake debuted on Wednesday morning, and it's a careful visual tribute of the late pop singer's lasting legacy on future generations. "Love Never Felt So Good" -- the first single off of Xscape -- features archival footage of Jackson's many music videos, including "Beat It," "Bad," "Black or White," "You Rock My World" and more (there's even a quick shot of the singer as a child in the Jackson 5). “Xscape,” out today, features eight previously unreleased Michael Jackson tunes, completed by top tier producers. There’s a reason these songs probably didn’t make it onto the albums they were written for at the time and that reason is that some of the songs are downright dreadful lyrically. They are saved by Jackson’s voice, which is treated lovingly here, and some of the best producers in the world — Timbaland, Babyface, L.A. Reid, Rodney Jerkins—dressing them up in current beats and lots of effects. For the most part, the producers push Jackson’s vocals way up in the mix because he sounds that good. Vocalists in training should listen to Jackson’s voice here and study how he uses it going from a whisper to a scream and shifting easily from one register to another. Plus, his vocal trademarks, from the heavy breathing to the little yelps and other hiccups are all here.

Forget going out to eat at some fancy schmancy restaurant, Michael Jackson wants to stay home in bed with you. It’s a bit of a creepy notion in hindsight, but it probably wasn’t in 1987, when Jackson originally recorded “Loving You.” Jackson laid down the mid-tempo ballad, which is featured on “Xscape,” an album of previously unreleased Jackson songs finished by various producers, for “Bad,” but then didn’t include it on the multi-platinum set, according to Billboard. Timbaland and J-Roc took the tracks and added a funky beat, according to Idolator. If “Loving You” is instantly recognizable as Jackson, “Blue Gangsta,” a track that bowed on MTV today, is a little more out there. With gritty vocals, full of hiccups and other Jackson trademarks, the singer originally recorded the vocals in 1999 with producer Dr. Freeze. Timbaland adds embellishments such as synths and horns to give it its futuristic feel,...

Disney World's Star Wars Weekend is approaching! The annual event, which actually runs for a series of weekends in the Florida theme park, is set to begin next month. What better way to warm up for it than by watching your favorite Star Wars characters dance to pop music? These videos are from the (formerly) recurring "Hyperspace Hoopla" dance-off event, which was held at Disney's Hollywood Studios during Star Wars Weekends, and featured various characters from the films showing off their moves in hilarious fashion. After all, what's funnier than Darth Vader and a bunch of Storm Troopers dancing to "You Can't Touch This"? Or Michael Jackson's "Bad"? Or Chewy dancing to "Hey Ya!" Points to all of these dancers, not only for their dancing skills, but for their ability to pull off these dance routines in those costumes, which probably make it pretty hard to see. You'd think...

I'll be honest: Michael Jackson videos are pretty hilarious even with the music included. Have you watched "Remember the Time" recently? Try surviving Mj's makeout with Iman. Dare you. But this is still a shockingly funny and scary treat: Check out what happens to romantic wistfulness of "The Way You Make Me Feel" -- definitely the best single off "Bad" -- after you take the music away. Suddenly all that gyrating, sneaking into cars, and screaming seems somehow strange. (Via HuffPost)...

What do Alexander Payne, David O. Russell, and Martin Scorsese’s latest films all have in common? While being multiple category nominees, they all went home empty-handed at the Oscars Sunday night. While the inferior “Dallas Buyers Club” took three trophies, Payne’s beautiful character piece about a man clinging to false hope when he thinks he has won a sweepstakes was overlooked. No matter. “Nebraska” will find the audience it deserves, and then some. This is the kind of...

The Oscars honor the best performances on film, but the telecast is all about celebrating the best speeches. Here’s how we called it:
1. Dallas Buyers Club’s Matthew McConaughey, Best Actor
Running over three minutes, the Best Actor acceptance speech was a monument of pure unfiltered McConaughey-ness. He thanked God. He thanked his late father: “I know he’s up there right now, with a big pot of gumbo…he’s probably in his underwear, and he’s got a cold can of Miller Lite, and he’s dancin’.” He went on a very long tangent about how his hero is himself — or rather,...

Oscars are set to take place this Sunday night. And just like every year, everyone wants to know who will take home Hollywood's greatest honor. Because of this, Las Vegas opened up bets and the results are in. It seems that the worst odds of the entire awards show are held by "Nebraska" and "Philomena," while "12 Years a Slave" has the best odds of winning Best Picture, Matthew McConaughey of winning Best Actor and Cate Blanchett of winning Best Actress. Take a look at the list below to see the results for each category. Other non-listed categories include whether the same film will win Best Picture and Best Director (Odds favor "No") and whether Pharrell will wear his mountain hat (Odds favor "Yes"). Best Picture: * 12 Years a Slave - 2/11 * Gravity - 4/1 * American Hustle - 15/1 * The Dallas Buyers Club - 20/1 * The Wolf of Wall Street - 35/1 * Captain Phillips - 150/1 * Her -...

Licking and biting stripper’s nipples, dropping $75,000 on strippers and reportedly spanking strippers in an as yet-to-be-released sex tape — Justin, this kind of sexist behavior is going to turn off your female fans.
Justin Bieber – you need to start showing respect for women and stop treating them like sex objects if you want to retain your female fan base.
Justin Bieber Needs To Relearn How To Respect Women
Think about it, Justin. Whether you like it or not, a huge portion of your 63 million Facebook fans, 49 million Twitter followers, and 13 million Instagram followers are still young women. Grimm Episode 312
“The Good Soldier”
Written By: Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt
Directed By: Rob Bailey
Original Airdate: 24 January 2014
In This Episode…
A big, brutish guy is speeding down the street in a muscle car. Highway Patrol gives chase. The brute stops, pulls the cop from the car, and beats the hell out of him. “You weren’t worthy,” he grunts as he scalps the cop. The case gets kicked to Portland Pd. This is the third such case of scalpings in the last few weeks. The other two were a naval captain and a border patrol cop. It looks like a serial killer with a penchant for killing men in uniform is headed to town.
The brute is now in Portland proper. A green beret in full uniform gets off a bus and walks down an dark alley. The brute is waiting for him, but this time, the brute...

It was an unforgettable image - Michael Jackson standing on top of an SUV and acknowledging fans amid his 2004 child-abuse trial. Now Justin Bieber, who pulled a similar pose when he left a Miami jail following his DUI arrest on Thursday, is pointing out the resemblance on Instagram. The 19-year-old posted a side-by-side photo collage of the two images along with the caption "What more can they say" followed by a crown. Later he Tweeted this all-capital-letter message: "You Are All Worthy No Matter What Anyone Says. Be Strong God Is With Us All. My Beliebers Changed My Life. I Will Forever Be Grateful.

Belieb it. After being released from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami on Thursday afternoon, Justin Bieber made an unforgettable exit. Perched atop a black SUV, the singer, 19, addressed throngs of fans who gathered outside to support him following his early morning DUI arrest. Dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, leather pants and his face shielded with sunglasses, Bieber looked solemn as he waved to his supporters. It seems as Bieber is taking cues from another pop icon, Michael Jackson, who infamously climbed atop his SUV to connect with his fans in January 2004, after pleading not guilty to...

In one of the most unusual sounding potential team-ups to date, filmmaker Martin Scorsese is reportedly interested in working with the One Direction kids.
71-year-old Scorsese previously made an uncredited cameo in Morgan Spurlock's "One Direction: This Is Us" concert documentary after his daughter turned him onto the music of Harry, Niall, Louis, Zayn, and the dreamiest of them all - Liam.
According to The New York Daily News (via Metro), an unidentified insider says: "Martin is very passionate and enthused about the music of One Direction."
Though there may be interest, nothing official is in the works at the moment. Scorsese has worked with musicians, from doco films like "Shine a Light" to music videos like Michael Jackson's iconic "Bad".

Though it isn’t quite yet over, and Martin Scorsese’s Wolf Of Wall Street is yet to come (along with Justin Bieber’s entirely unnecessary movie,) the film industry of 2013 is now running on empty. As such, attention inevitably turns to the highs and lows of the year’s best and worst films, and specifically the characters and performances that defined the year.
While some will chastise the worst acting performances, and others heap accolades of those which deserve awards attention, the reality is that it is the coolest characters, and the most deliciously bad-ass who will go down longer in audience memories.
Looking to join a heady list that includes The Dude, Patrick Bateman and Withnail, the characters in question aren’t necessarily from the greatest films, but they bleed the kind of appeal that pushes them to another level altogether. They are the bad-asses,...

Brown Can Act Like They Give A Shit.
