The Elden Ring Dlc trailer gave everyone their first glimpse at some substantial gameplay in the next bit of content from FromSoftware. However, it’s been a long time since the Dlc was first teased last year. While it can be a bit frustrating, fans of FromSoftware games are not strangers to such extended wait times.
But, thankfully, other developers are not as taxing and give players some content to engage with until the new Dlc drops. Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio are on this list, as it has been announced that Lies of P will be getting more content in 2024.

Fandoms everywhere can now rejoice, for in October Our Flag Means Death finally returns to our screens for its second season. Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi will be romancing the high seas once more thanks to an enormous outpouring of love and support from the show’s fans. The safety of the cult favorite is not yet known beyond season two, but if this one is as good as the first, it certainly won’t be for lack of trying.

This article contains spoilers for "Pinocchio"
Recently, two Pinocchio movies from rival streaming services received two very different distinctions from award organizations based in L.A. "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio," co-directed by Mark Gustafson and available on Netflix, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Disney's live-action "Pinocchio," directed by Robert Zemeckis and available on Disney+, won the Razzie Award for Worst Remake, Ripoff or Sequel.
The Battle of the Two Pinocchios was fought, and voters decided that del Toro did a better job of rediscovering the wooden boy's soul. You can't really argue with that, yet he and Zemeckis were both indebted to Walt Disney's original 1940 animated version of "Pinocchio" (also on Disney+), not to mention Carlo Collodi's foundational children's novel, "The Adventures of Pinocchio," first published in book form 140 years ago.
In "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio," the puppet is immortal, capable of reanimating after death.

“Women Talking” has won the USC Libraries Scripter Award for adapted screenplay in a ceremony that took place on the USC campus in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
The Scripter Award goes to both the writer of an adapted screenplay and the author of the original material on which the screenplay was based, which meant that the award was given to writer-director Sarah Polley and novelist Miriam Toews, whose 2018 novel formed the basis for Polley’s film.
In the 34-year history of the Scripters, the winner has matched the Oscar winner 14 times, most of those in an eight-year streak between 2010 and 2017.
Other finalists were screenwriter Kazuo Ishiguro for “Living,” based on Leo Tolstoy’s novella “The Death of Ivan Ilyich”; screenwriter Rebecca Lenkiewicz and journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey for “She Said”; and Guillermo del Toro, Patrick McHale and Matthew Robbins for “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio,” based on...

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio is an Oscar frontrunner for best animated feature, and if it wins, it won’t be the first time the Academy has honored the wooden puppet who longs to be a real boy. In 1941, Walt Disney’s Pinocchio became the first animated feature to win Oscars for best original score and song, for “When You Wish Upon a Star.” The 1940 film, based on children’s novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, was the second animated feature released by Disney, after 1937’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (which, incidentally, also earned an Oscar nomination for original score). Composers Leigh Harline and Paul J. Smith, who had written the music for Snow White with Frank Churchill, were enlisted to craft Pinocchio‘s score. Harline and lyricist Ned Washington wrote the tune “When You Wish Upon a Star,” which was immediately recognized by Disney as...

The animated film Guillermo del Toro’s “Pinocchio”, clinched the honour for Best Animated Film at the BAFTA on Monday. The film won over fellow nominees of “Marcel The Shell With Shoes On”, “Puss In Boots: The Last Wish” and “Turning Red”.
The film, which uses stop-motion animation, is a musical dark fantasy directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson, with a screenplay by del Toro and Patrick McHale from a story by del Toro and Matthew Robbins.
The film is loosely based on the 1883 Italian novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio” by Carlo Collodi, and strongly influenced by Gris Grimly’s illustrations for a 2002 edition of the book, it reimagines the story of Pinocchio, a wooden puppet who comes to life as the son of his carver Geppetto.

“Black Adam” was invulnerable with Twitter users in its streaming service debut on HBO Max this past weekend, landing at the top of Variety’s Trending movies chart, presented by Samsung, for the week of Dec. 12 to 18.
The Warner Bros. film generated nearly half-a-million engagements online with fans and critics alike. The streaming debut reignited conversations surrounding star Dwayne Johnson’s recent statements the film could be the first in a new franchise, despite reported theatrical losses. The future of many DC projects is currently unknown as the company re-strategizes under new co-chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran.

This article contains spoilers for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.
Guillermo del Toro still vividly recalls the first time he saw Walt Disney’s classic animated film, Pinocchio, as a child. That 1940 Disney movie, only the second feature-length effort from the company, is likely darker than most adults remember. And on more than a few occasions it even reaches toward the nightmarish imagery of Carlo Collodi’s 1883 novel, The Adventures of Pinocchio. But del Toro remembers it all.
“I was very young and all of a sudden I saw Disney’s Pinocchio,” del Toro tells Den of Geek. “I thought this movie understands how scary childhood is for me. Somebody got it.”
Somebody did, but perhaps even then del Toro sensed he had a different temperament from the values implied by Pinocchio, both as suggested by Disney and by Collodi’s literary source material. In those versions, Pinocchio is a...

Jonathan Taylor Thomas is widely known for his work in Home Improvement. He also brought the young version of Simba from the Disney movie to life by voicing him. The kids from the 90s remember him well from voicing many great characters of that time. Jonathan voiced Pinocchio in the New Line Cinema as well as in the film The Adventures of Pinocchio. Born on 8th September 1981, Jonathan Taylor Thomas had a great start to his acting and voicing career. But the fans had not even speculated what their favorite star was about to do with them. October is here, which means a bevy of new titles available to watch on HBO and HBO Max. First and foremost, however, we have the highly anticipated “The White Lotus” Season 2, which debuts on Oct. 30 on HBO and will be streaming on HBO Max at the same time. New location, new characters (save for Jennifer Coolidge from Season 1), same music.
Also new this month is the docuseries follow-up “The Vow: Part Two,” further exploring the inner sanctum of Nxivm, which debuts on Oct. 17 on HBO and is streaming on HBO Max the same night. There’s also “Avenue 5” Season 2 on Oct. 10 and the new Chip and Joanna Gaines series “Fixer Upper: The Castle” on Oct. 14 (that one will also debut on Magnolia Network and discovery+ at the same time).
Other noteworthy additions this month include library titles like “Nightcrawler,” “The Witch,” “Terms of Endearment” and the underseen comedy gem “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.

Things are going pretty, pretty well for HBO and HBO Max at the moment thanks to the smashing success of Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon. With its list of new releases for October 2022 though, HBO Max appears ready to up the ante even more.
The headlining title on HBO Max this month is undoubtedly The White Lotus season 2 on Oct. 30. Mike White’s freshly-Emmy-winning comedy looked to be a one-off after season 1. But cooler heads prevailed and the series is now returning in an anthology format. What will season 2 look like? Guess we’ll find out when the show checks in to Sicily later this month.
Aside from The White Lotus, HBO also has a few other TV shows of note this month. The torturously titled Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler debuts its third season on Oct. 6. That will be followed by Avenue 5 season 2 on Oct.

"Pinocchio" is the latest Disney animated film to get an updated "live-action" remake in our contemporary times. The 1940 original is rightfully a classic — a film that pushed the boundary of what animation can bring to the screen and a story about a boy's earnest search to find out who he is. Robert Zemeckis' remake, however, fails to capture the heart of the original. It's poorly paced, full of actors talking in multiple variants of accented English that make Dick Van Dyke's Cockney accent seem good in comparison, and delivers major characters who are stilted, disjointed, and lacking life.
The story of Zemeckis' "Pinocchio" largely follows that of the original film, inspired by "The Adventures of Pinocchio" by Carlo Collodi. An old woodworker named Geppetto wishes on a star for Pinocchio, a wooden puppet he made, to become a real boy. Geppetto gets his wish, although Pinocchio remains made of...

There's a strange thing that happens in Hollywood more often than one might imagine. Two projects get greenlit that aren't just similar, but pull from nearly the same source material. Though this often happens in early stages of projects, like when a wild story suddenly becomes a hot commodity, it's rare that both versions actually end up being born into the world at the same time.
Yet there are times when years of brainstorming, production, and post-production somehow ultimately align, leading to near-simultaneous releases that look intentionally competitive, even if they're not. This is what seems to be happening with "Pinocchio," a classic story that's somehow receiving two very distinct adaptations this fall. While one will debut in September and remake a family film we know and love, the other hits theaters in November and pull inspiration from the darker Italian novel of the same name. Let's dig into the...

If you thought the Mouse House was done trying to make Disney+ Day happen, then you don't know Mickey Mouse. 11 months after bombarding the Internet with the onslaught of news that was Disney+ Investor Day in December 2020, Disney revealed its plans to mark the two-year anniversary of its streaming service with its first-ever Disney+ Day on November 12, 2021. It did not go well, between the early leaks, confusing Twitter threads, and sneak preview videos being hidden behind paywalls where those who're not already signed up for Disney+ couldn't access them.
We will see what lessons the company took away from that kerfuffle (assuming it learned anything) when it hosts its second annual Disney+ Day on Thursday, September 8, 2022, ahead of the D23 Expo taking place over the weekend after from September 9-11. In the meantime, here's a run-down of the biggest films and TV shows coming to Disney's streamer next month.

A new full-length trailer for Robert Zemeckis’ Pinocchio came to life on Wednesday.
The two-minute video gives a more in-depth look at the puppet-turned-real-boy, voiced by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, as well as Geppetto (Tom Hanks), Jiminy Cricket (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Honest John (Keegan-Michael Key) and the Blue Fairy (Cynthia Erivo).
It chronicles the entire story, from Geppetto building Pinocchio to the Blue Fairy turning him into a real boy to the trouble the wooden boy often finds himself in, like being lured to Pleasure Island and, of course, getting eaten by the blue whale.
“Pinocchio, be brave. Truthful. Non-selfish,” multiple characters advise him as he becomes acquainted with the world around him.
“You will always be my real boy,” Hanks’ Geppetto tells him.

"Why on Earth would you want to be real when you can be… famous?!" Disney has revealed the full-length official trailer for their own live-action adaptation of Pinocchio, starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto. This new film is a remake of the 1940 Disney animated classic, which is itself based on the 1883 Italian book The Adventures of Pinocchio. Hanks is joined by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio, a wooden puppet carved by Geppetto, who is turned into a living puppet by the Blue Fairy. Cynthia Erivo also co-stars with Luke Evans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the voice of Jiminy Cricket, Keegan-Michael Key as "Honest" John, a deceptive red fox, and Lorraine Bracco as Sofia the Seagull, a brand new character. With Kyanne Lamaya as Fabiana, Giuseppe Battiston as Señor Stromboli, and Lewin Lloyd as Lampwick. Disney is giving this one the same treatment as The Lion King and Aladdin before it, but unfortunately it looks like trash.

Pinocchio might not be a real boy just yet, but he definitely is a real puppet.
Disney Plus has released the first trailer for “Pinocchio,” a live-action remake of the classic 1940 animated movie of the same name, which hits the service in September.
Based on the classic 1883 children’s book “The Adventures of Pinocchio” by Italian author Carlo Collodi, “Pinocchio” stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who provides his voice to the living puppet. His wish is heard by a Blue Fairy (Cynthia Erivo), who visits his shop and brings the puppet to life. "Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight..." Disney has revealed the first teaser trailer for their new live-action adaptation of Pinocchio, starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto. The classic story has been updated many times recently, including with an Italian live-action adaptation, which didn't get good reviews. Plus del Toro has a Netflix version in the works. Cynthia Erivo also co-stars with Luke Evans, plus Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the voice of Jiminy Cricket, Keegan-Michael Key as "Honest" John, a deceptive red fox, and Lorraine Bracco as Sofia the Seagull, a brand new character. America’s dad Tom Hanks transforms into Pinocchio’s dad in the live-action Disney Plus remake of the animated classic.
“Pinocchio,” a spin on the 1940 animated Disney film of the same name, is itself adapted from Carlo Collodi’s children’s novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio.” The movie stars Hanks as Geppetto, a childless woodworker desperate for a son. The first look image shows a scruffy, white-haired Hanks admiring a not-yet animated Pinocchio (voiced in the film by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) on his workbench. The design for Pinocchio in the film is a close recreation of the original film’s character design, complete with a yellow hat with a red feather and a nearly identical face to the animated movie.
“Pinocchio” is directed by Robert Zemeckis from a screenplay written by him and Chris Weitz, who produces with Andrew Milano. Disney Plus’ “Pinocchio” is not the only upcoming movie centered around the famous puppet.

Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard are all but upstaged by their puppet child in this tragicomic pop opera
Carlo Collodi’s 19th-century tale The Adventures of Pinocchio has cast a long shadow over cinema, inspiring everything from a 1911 Italian live-action silent to Matteo Garrone’s 2019 Pinocchio, via such diverse fare as Disney’s 1940 animation and Spielberg’s futuristic 2001 sci-fi AI: Artificial Intelligence. A Guillermo del Toro stop-motion adaptation is also forthcoming. In the meantime we have this tragicomic musical fantasy from Cannes best director winner Leos Carax and American pop maestros Sparks, in which a starry cast is augmented – and arguably upstaged – by a puppet in the title role.

With ‘Nomadland’ Pulled, Italy’s ‘Pinocchio’ Becomes First Oscar-Nominated Film to Hit China in 2021
Move over, “Nomadland” — Italy’s “Pinocchio” is now set to become the first film nominated at this year’s Oscars to hit China.
Although Chloé Zhao’s film nabbed best picture and two other major prizes at the Academy Awards on Sunday, it was pulled quietly from its planned China release on April 23 in the wake of nationalist backlash against her there. This means that Matteo Garrone’s live-action “Pinocchio” is the first of the movies recognized by the Academy this year to get a Chinese theatrical run. It will hit theaters on June 1, Children’s Day.
An adaptation of Carlo Collodi’s original 1883 book “The Adventures of Pinocchio,” it earned Oscar nods for costume design, and makeup and hairstyling this year. The film stars Roberto Benigni as Pinocchio’s father, who is best known for his role in the 1997 drama “Life Is Beautiful,” which was released in China for...

Italian director Matteo Garrone’s Pinocchio is not the sunny, cheery cartoon tale of your childhood memories. The Gomorrah auteur’s darker, yet thrillingly fantastical adaptation remains true to Carlo Collodi’s The Adventures of Pinocchio, which began as a weekly series of cautionary children’s tales set in the impoverished Tuscan countryside. Costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini, who just received his first Academy Award nomination for the film, also walks the line of spectacular realism for the age-old story of the mischievous sentient puppet (Federico Ielapi), carved by lonely carpenter Geppetto (Roberto Benigni).

Carlo Collodi’s novel The Adventures of Pinocchio has been adapted for the screen numerous times, but for Matteo Garrone’s 2020 film Pinocchio, the director wanted to be faithful to the original book, first published in 1883. The look of the eponymous wooden puppet who longs to be real boy thus started with examinations of the book’s early illustrations by Enrico Mazzanti and Carlo Chiostri.

Italian author Carlo Collodi’s 1883 book “The Adventures of Pinocchio,” as most everyone knows, is about a wooden puppet that yearns to be a real boy. Director Matteo Garrone’s new Italian-language adaptation of the beloved story (starring Federico Ielapi as Pinocchio and Roberto Benigni as Geppetto) faced the exact opposite challenge.
Eschewing digital effects in favor of practical makeup magic, Garrone’s task was how to turn the 8-year-old Ielapi, along with nearly two dozen other human actors, into an elaborate array of storybook creatures, keeping true to Collodi’s original vision. And not only a wooden puppet, but also a cricket, an owl, a dog, a gorilla, a snail — and, yes, even a philosophical tuna fish, who Pinocchio meets in the belly of a giant sea monster.

Carlo Collodi's 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio has been adapted countless times to the big screen, from the time of the silent shorts to today's world of streaming services and opulent CGI. However, it should be noted that, throughout the majority of film history, the most famous adaptations of this literary nightmare have been rather unfaithful to its source material, its sharper edges indiscriminately sanded off. A tale of cruel moralism full of ghoulish characters, Pinocchio's story is often mellowed until its hellish visions are more enchanting than terrifying.

Time and time again during this year’s pandemic, movie studios have had to make the best of a bad situation. HBO Max’s list of new releases for December 2020 comes along with the most extreme example yet.
WarnerMedia undoubtedly had big plans for Wonder Woman 1984 when it scheduled it for a holiday release last year. After moving it to the summer, however, the conglomerate had to delay its theatrical release time and time again. Now HBO Max is the lucky winner of the saga, as it gets to premiere the long-awaited sequel on its servers on Dec. 25.
While Wonder Woman 1984 is definitely the headline this month, there are some other intriguing streaming options for HBO Max in December. The month plays host to a whole host of high-powered documentaries like Heaven’s Gate: The Cult of Cults (Dec. 3), Alabama Snake (Dec. 9), and the Tiger Woods documentary Tiger (Dec.

Netflix has officially unveiled the cast of director Guillermo del Toro’s rendition of classic tale Pinocchio; an impressive lineup that’s notably highlighted by A-listers such as Cate Blanchett, Ewan McGregor and Tilda Swinton.
The film will utilize stop-motion as the means to update the often-adapted tale famously conveyed by author Carlo Collodi’s 1883 serial story collection, The Adventures of Pinocchio, and, of course, Disney’s iconic, culturally-cemented 1940 animated Pinocchio film. Additionally, the plot will carry some newfound historical gravitas by moving the story’s traditional time setting to a World War II-era backdrop, focusing on the rise of Fascism in Mussolini’s Italy, showcasing what the logline calls “a story of love and disobedience as Pinocchio struggles to live up to his father’s expectations.”

If we’ve learned anything recently, it’s that Disney can’t stop and won’t stop shuffling through their extensive back catalogue of animated films until every single one receives the live-action treatment. Indeed, the studio’s upcoming slate is packed with projects that will be familiar to longtime fans of the Mouse House and one of them, of course, is Pinocchio.
For those unfamiliar with the story – though honestly, how many people haven’t seen Disney’s animated classic or at least heard the tale? – we first met the titular character in 1883 novel The Adventures Of Pinocchio, which told the story of a young boy made out of wood who was brought to life by a fairy. HBO Max is set to enter into its second month of existence. And you know what that means: it’s Christmas in July!
HBO Max’s list of new releases for July 2020 is highlighted by one prominent Christmas movie: last year’s Emilia Clarke-starring Last Christmas. But the real cause for Christmas in July is all the exciting animated DC content coming our way on the first of the month. July 1 sees the arrival of just about every animated Batman project ever created. July 1 also features the arrival of just about every Justice League animated series ever created as well.
