It’s been an interesting run-up to the Toronto International Film Festival, and in terms of the survival of the species, the good ol’ U.S.A. has been something of a race to the bottom. What would do us in first: violent neo-Nazis whose activities are almost explicitly condoned by the Klansman In Chief? Or a 1,000-year weather event on the Gulf Coast whose magnitude surely owes something to global climate change, and whose aftermath of collapsing dams and exploding chemical factories has everything to do with systematic neglect?Given the state of things down here, who wouldn’t want to repair to Canada for some challenging cinema? As always, the Toronto International Film Festival (Tiff) is the place to be in September, and Wavelengths once again features the best of the fest. This is because the films selected for Wavelengths are the opposite of escapism. Whether they tackle...

Julia Roberts joined Bear Grylls for a special Red Nose Day episode of Running Wild that saw the unlikely duo making their way through the rugged wilderness of Kenya.
Things kicked off to a rocky start when the Pretty Woman star and the survival expert flew into Kenya and endured something of a rough landing that had Roberts screaming the entire time.
However, that wasn't nearly as nerve-wracking as what happened when Roberts and Grylls had to get across a gorge on a rickety bridge hanging above a dangerous river filled with hungry crocodiles.

Borgeous dropped a banger of a new remix this week for Morgan Page’s “Running Wild,” featuring Britt Daley and The Oddictions. Contrasting the original track, Borgeous picks up the pace while infusing his signature big room elements into the mix, making for an irresistibly danceable track.
The producer opens his remix with a driving four on the floor beat, introducing the familiar melodies from the original. Setting things off right with an energetic intro, Borgeous quickly cuts back the percussion, making room for the song’s catchy vocals. While slowly introducing new elements, he brings up the intensity with frantic, rising percussion and rapid synth leads. The drops feature huge club beats and exciting synth melodies, bringing the energy of the track full force.

President Obama lunched on some salmon picked over from an actual bear – not to be confused with Bear Grylls – on his wilderness trek through Alaska with the host of NBC's Running Wild with Bear Grylls.
Obama, who was visiting Alaska over three days to test his wilderness skills and to survey the impact of climate change on the state, was a little worried about what might be on the menu.
"I've seen some of the stuff Bear eats, and it's gotta be something that doesn't still have its legs and eyes on it. I want it not to be too recognizable,...

It was revealed earlier this week that Obama would be appearing on TV adventure man Bear Grylls's show Running Wild, where he'll be joining the ranks of Kate Winslet and Channing Tatum to test his wilderness prowess in the great outdoors. The two of them partook in a three-day trip to Alaska, which served as a convenient backdrop to survey the impact of climate change on the state. As you can see from the newly released photos posted by the White House, our commander-in-chief isn't above taking some classic "dad on vacation" snaps. We'll forgive the dad selfie faux pas of leaving the finger in the shot. Hiking pants, a tasteful windbreaker, and protective shades? Straight out of the travel-dad look book. He wants you to draw him like one of your French dads. The episode will be airing on NBC later this year.

The commander in chief, 54, took over the White House's official social media accounts on Tuesday, to share snippets from his arctic excursion with the television host. Posting a selfie with Grylls from their mountainous trek, Obama wrote early Wednesday, "Glad this was the only Bear I met in the park." Grylls reposted the photo and wrote: "Was [...]...

You know what is a horrible, no-good thing to do to a person? Have her rappel down the face of a cliff and then ask her to re-create one of the most iconic — nay, the iconic scene from late '90s cinema — while staring death in the face. That's what adventure man Bear Grylls did to Kate Winslet on Running Wild, when he asked her to spread her arms out wide. Of course, she indulged him. You deserve some grilled yak after that, Kate.

Survivalist Bear Grylls had the perfect line ready and waiting while trying to coax actress Kate Winslet down a mountain on his reality adventure series, "Running Wild with Bear Grylls." Thankfully for fans of "Titanic," it happened to be a bit of dialogue from the Oscar-winning film -- and Winslet gamely played along.
In a clip promoting the pair's upcoming episode of "Running Wild," we see Winslet perched on the side of a cliff in the Snowdonia Mountains range in Wales, clutching a rope and staring down at Grylls, who's waiting at the bottom for the actress to descend.
