Updated: There has been another round of content removal from Disney+, this time in the Emea region, which consists of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More than 120 titles have been taken off this week, primarily Disney Channel original movies and vintage Disney live-action films, as well as a few series, including Zeke and Luther, Pepper Ann, So Random and the first three seasons of Nat Geo’s Genius and ESPN/Nat Geo docs.
According to sources, the takedowns were a result of a library title review. There have been several content purges at Disney+ over the last year amid cost-cutting, most notably the removal of a slew of original series last May.
Here is a list of movie titles that are said to be gone from Disney+ in Emea, compiled by Drew Ryan.

Exclusive: Oscar-nominated Saving Private Ryan screenwriter Robert Rodat is set to write Semper Fi, the true story of Marine Maj. Thomas Schueman and his extraordinary Afghan interpreter Zainulla Zaki.

This summer, as the U.S. pulled out of Afghanistan, Zaki and his family were targeted for execution by the Taliban due to his involvement with U.S. Forces. Schueman’s devotion to his comrade and his struggle to save him, his wife and four children led to a harrowing escape and a daring rescue at Kabul’s airport.

Dwayne Johnson is getting a raw deal from people who think he's not black enough to play John Henry ... according to Roger Aaron Brown, who had the role back in the '90s. Roger played John Henry in the 1995 movie 'Tall Tale,' and tells us he doesn't have a problem with The Rock stepping into his shoes. He tells us there's way more to the role than being African-American, so complaints Dwayne's skin isn't dark enough are nonsense.

The recent Signature Theatre revival of Suzan Lori-Parks' Venus, based on the true story of Saartjie Baartman, depicted a 19th Century African woman who was subjected to exploitation because of white people's fascination with her prominent posterior. But the mood is considerably lighter over at Playwrights Horizons these days, where the title character of Kirsten Childs' joyfully old-fashioned, but sneakily subversive new musical, Bella An American Tall Tale, is a 19th Century African-American woman who celebrates the attention her queenly derriere receives and uses it as a source of empowerment.

Tall tales can be fun precisely because they explode the boundaries of logic. And so it is with Kirsten Childs’ new musical “Bella: An American Tall Tale,” which opened Monday at Off Broadway’s Playwrights Horizons in a sumptuously staged production. The Bella of the title is one Isabella Patterson, a native of antebellum Mississippi who bears some resemblance to both Josephine Baker and the so-called Hottentot Venus, a real-life woman of African descent who toured Europe circuses in the 19th century thanks to her plus-size posterior. Our Bella, played with infectious and giggly ebullience by Ashley D. Kelley, dubs herself “Big.

“The Nightly Show’s” Larry Wilmore is all about honesty in interviews … kind of. On the “Today” show Thursday, Wilmore was asked to “Keep It 100″ the way he does guests during that eponymous segment on his show. “Today” co-host Willie Geist asked Wilmore who’s funnier and more talented: Stephen Colbert or “The Daily Show’s” Jon Stewart. “Jon’s really not that funny. People don’t know he’s kind of curmudgeony,” Wilmore said jokingly. “It comes out seeming funny on TV, but if you sat right here, you’re like, ‘I don’t get it.'” Also read:...

"Ted" has received fairly positive reviews ahead of its opening in theaters on Friday (June 29), and it made more than $2 million at the box office in midnight screenings. So, it's good day for first-time feature director, co-writer and voice of Ted Seth MacFarlane, right?
Well, yeah, it is. But MacFarlane is also being accused of poaching the idea for "Ted" from a comic strip called "Imagine This."
The strip, which Lucas Turnbloom has been drawing since 2008, follows the life of a not-very-ambitious guy named Darin and Clovis, his talking, booze-hound childhood teddy bear. The premise of "Ted," which stars Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, is pretty much the same, and certain scenes -- including one of Wahlberg's John and Ted eating cereal out of the box while slumped on a couch -- mimic panels in "Imagine This."
"Many cartoonists, myself included, hope that their strips might someday be developed into...

Robert Rodat, eh? He is, of course, best known for his screenplay for "Saving Private Ryan," which was fairly heavily doctored by several other heavy hitters brought on once Spielberg was officially making the film. That's the way it works, though. No matter who did what, if you're the guy with the name on the movie, you're the one who gets the bounce. The thing is, Rodat's a good writer, and that's true of his other work as well. I quite like "Tall Tale," a fantasy picture that deals with some of the legendary characters of the American west, and I...

Why did the 1997 movie take on The Avengers go so wrong? What’s it like to direct Sharon Stone? And how do you recover when your movie is slammed by the critics?
In part one of our interview with Jeremiah Chechik, he talked about working with John Hughes, being noticed by Kubrick and Spielberg, and making the wonderful Benny & Joon.
Here, he takes us through working with movie stars, on both Diabolique, and on Warner Bros' big-screen take on The Avengers. Incidentally, we should point out that this interview was conducted before the recent stories about Kevin Smith and Bruce Willis on the set of Cop Out surfaced.
Without further ado...

Bone: Tall Tales
By Jeff Smith with Tom Sniegoski
128 pages, Scholastic Graphix, $10.99 (paperback), $22.99 (hardcover)
Scholastic’s Graphix imprint is wisely repackaging all the Bone material, turning it into a uniform library for the young adult readers who can’t get enough of the denizens of Boneville. The latest such entry is Tall Tales, which is the color edition of 2000’s Stupid, Stupid Rat-Tails: The Adventures of Big Johnson Bone, Frontier Hero, which in turn collected a 1999 miniseries. The key differences are that “RIblet” is not included here while a story produced for the late, lamented Disney Adventures magazine is added along with some new material.
Additionally, the versatile Tom Sniegoski penned three of the four tales collected here with Smith handling the honors for the framing sequence and the first story. Essentially, Smiley and Bartleby take Ring, Bingo and Todd camping and tell stories around the campfire. So, the...

Patrick Swayze was a charming cinematic rogue who starred as Sam Wheat in the romantic fantasy Ghost (1990). He portrayed the murdered lover of Demi Moore, who was able to communicate with his wife through a psychic, played by Whoopi Goldberg in an Oscar-winning performance.

Swayze earned honorary membership in `the Brat Pack’ with his role as Rob Lowe and C. Thomas Howell’s older brother in the 1983 film The Outsiders. He starred as Jed Eckert, leader of the Wolverines, the young freedom fighters who battled Soviet invaders in John Milius’ 1984 Cold War classic Red Dawn.

Nearly seven years after 9/11, it's ironic, and oddly comforting, that the criminal most closely associated with the World Trade Center is arguably a French tightrope walker who inched his way between the towers more than 1,300 feet in the air.
Philip Petit was arrested for his 1974 feat and still describes himself as a criminal, but was sentenced to community service - a walk over Belvedere Lake in Central Park.
He was a huge celebrity, a hero, and the Port Authority, which owned the towers, considered his walk a publicity coup for a pair of enormous, ugly buildings that had trouble attracting tenants.

- A Bittersweet Life South Korea, Dir: Kim Ji-Woon, 2005 Montreal Premiere + In a country increasingly known for producing stylish genre films, South Koreaâ.s Kim Ji-Woon has quickly emerged as one of the very brightest talents. His bleak comedy debut, The Quiet Family, won attention worldwide before being remade by Takashi Miike as The Happiness of the Katakuris. From there, Kim moved on to wrestling picture The Foul King, before cementing his reputation as one of the worldâ.s premiere visual talents with the stunning atmospheric horror A Tale of Two Sisters. Kimâ.s latest is a stunning visual film, flawlessly composed, beautifully shot, and filled with scenes of shockingly coldhearted violence.
