Sex & Nudity

  • The coach tells another man that girls are "what you sleep with after the game, not what you coach during the game".
  • No Sex shown. No Nudity (some women are seen in their bras.)
  • A man puts his knee on the seat of a train to better see out the window despite a woman being seated there and she protests. He replies, "You like it?"
  • The baseball scout says he has to go home and give his wife a "pickle tickle".
  • A coach comes into the locker room of female players drunk, walks to the urinal, and urinates for a long time. The girls comment on how well he did.
  • A teenager says to a middle aged woman they should 'slip in the backseat and make a man out of him.'
  • A woman reads a sexy portion of a romance book out loud.
  • The girls sneak out to a nightclub, where they drink and dance. Some of the dancing is sensual, and some is very athletic, showing their underpants when they spin and flip.
  • As she heads out on a date, Mae wears a dress that she's told is too tight, and she says she doesn't plan on having it on very long. Another player says, "I don't know why you ever get dressed at all!"
  • A boy asks a former star player to sign a baseball. He signs it, "Avoid the clap. Jimmy Dugan"
  • In several scenes, women players are seen in the locker room or boarding house in their undergarments or towels. 8 separate occurrences from 2 different scenes including 7 bra shots and 1 panty shot
  • The coach prays with the team before a game. Among other things, he says thank you to God for "that waitress in South Bend... who kept calling your name."

Violence & Gore

  • A woman tells another woman that she's going to "have to kill your son". She proceeds to chase the child with a baseball bat. However, it's unlikely that she would carry out her threat and the scene is one of a comedic nature.
  • Two women have a heated argument, in which one of them deliberately breaks a window by throwing a baseball.
  • Due to the movie being primarily about Baseball, some sports injuries are shown or discussed.
  • A player is shown with a large bruise on her leg after sliding to a plate.
  • There is a minor fight among some of the players, with hair-pulling and rolling on the ground.
  • A coach throws a baseball mitt into the face of an annoying little boy.

Profanity

  • Multiple uses of shit, ass, hell, at least one use of bitch. Ex "You bitch!" "You look like shit". No f-bombs
  • 1 use of piss, bitch, penis and tits 3 uses of hell 5 uses of ass 6 uses of damn 5 paired with god 7 uses of shit 1 paired with bull, pig and chicken
  • Most is said by Coach.
  • A coach tells the umpire he looks like a 'penis with a little hat on'.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The baseball players are shown drinking at a roadhouse. One girl is seen singing on stage and it's clear that she's very intoxicated.
  • The manager Jimmy spends much of the first half of the film intoxicated. He is also shown carrying and sipping from a bottle/flask. Several characters refer to him as a drunk or a lush.
  • Most of the baseball players are shown "sneaking" cigarettes at a road-stop. When interrupted by their chaperone, they conceal their lit cigarettes, and when the chaperone leaves, they all exhale a huge cloud of smoke.
  • Some of the ball players smoke at a roadhouse party.
  • Several characters are shown casually smoking throughout the film
  • Jimmy the manager is shown chewing and spitting tobacco. At one point he offers some to Dottie, the team leader, who is also later shown spitting tobacco juice.
  • A woman's food is poisoned, and she is shown violently throwing up.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • As the women wait in the locker room before a game, an agent bursts in with a telegram, muttering about how it's a terrible way to tell a woman her husband has been killed in the war. There's a tense moment while viewers wait to learn for whom the telegram is meant.

  • A man returns from war with an injured leg, he walks with a cane and has a limp. He reveals he was shot in battle by a sniper.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A woman receives a telegram from the war office, informing her of her husband being killed in action, causing her to break down in tears. The scene is very emotional and may upset some viewers.
