- Jasmine initially appears in a nude poster, although nothing indecent is exposed.
- Jasmine appears in Sam's room wearing nothing but a towel. Nothing is visible to the audience.
- Jasmine, newly in human form, touches Sam's head to understand human language and culture. Because she has read his mind and wants to please him, she touches him all over, then gives a surprised reaction on grabbing his crotch and finding it feels different from other parts of him.
- Reverend Lawrence Newman is referred to as "Escort Service Larry" when he is first introduced.
- Angelica takes Larry into the bedroom and opens his pants. A huge animatronic dragon colored flesh-tone bursts out of his pants and attacks his face. The dragon bears little resemblance to the human anatomy, but it's nonetheless suggestive of male genitalia.

- Nathan believes the damage to his experiment could blow off half the world, resulting in the deaths of all characters in the film, a threat that grows greater as the film reaches its climax and is a major element of suspense.
