Sex & Nudity

  • A few romances, but nothing significantly suggestive.

Violence & Gore

  • Cadavers are discovered in a missile base basement; no blood.
  • Two helicopters are struck down by a swarm of bees and explode, killing the crews inside.
  • A family picnic is interfered by swarms of bees; the mother and father succumb to the attacks, but the traumatized son manages to get into the car and drive away. He swerves recklessly into town, crashing into the town square. No one is injured.
  • An entire town square is attacked by bees. One man, flailing his arms, smashes through the window of a bakery. Everybody is implied dead.
  • A train is derailed and tumbles down a hillside, provoking passengers to fly through the windows and killing them. The passenger carts eventually detonate; only seventeen passengers are confirmed alive.
  • Paul, one of the kids, flatlines in the hospital.
  • The bees invade the plant, killing both Andrews and Hubbard, as well as completely destroying the plant.
  • Man-made burning in the finale; cars and buildings are sent ablaze, several of the donors are killed.
  • An ambulance filled with bees (including the driver) crashes into the main lobby of a building, violently exploding.
  • A couple of flamethrower men are set on fire. One screams frenetically and smashes out one of the windows, falling to his death.
  • A nuclear power plant blows up because the bees invaded it. Tens of thousands are reported killed.

Profanity

  • Son of a b**** is used 2-3 times.
  • Some uses of h*** and d***. A** and g*dd*** are heard at least once as well.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The bee attacks may disturb younger viewers.
  • Jerry Goldsmith's score is very dramatic.
  • The characters often have hallucinations of giant bees.
  • The finale is pretty intense.
  • Everyone in the town were panic and attacked by bees. This scene is very bloody and frightening, and it can be very upsetting when the children's died by bee.
  • There are several of these including explosions, a train crash, illusions of a giant bee in close up, fires including people set alight, falling through glass and occasions when individuals (including some children) are overrun and die with bees over their bodies. All of these scenarios are devoid of blood and gore.

  • The scene where Dr. Krim tests the antidote on a venomous bee sting. He ultimately dies.
