Sex & Nudity

  • Men are playing a game of cards with pictures of topless women on them. We only see this in one quick shot.
  • Some nudity can be seen from a group of Australian natives that check out a burnt car. Mostly breasts and buttocks.
  • There are some scenes where the girl's panties are seen, including when she puts them on and when she rubs her leg with her fingers (only a tiny glimpse). They are seen twice when she hangs off a tree and when she pours water on her younger brother. Her panties and bra are clearly seen during the scene of her pouring water on her younger brother.
  • A woman's breasts are visible, but it's non-sexual: she's only in the process of dressing. However, a boy makes advances to her, and during this scene we see repeated glimpses of her exposed breasts.
  • In another scene, one older boy, an older girl and a young boy are nude and swimming in a watering hole. Though the camera was at a fair distance from the actors, frontal nudity is discernible on all characters.
  • There is another scene in which some adult men are trying to look down the shirt of an adult woman. We don't actually see anything beyond a glimpse of a bra.
  • Full frontal nudity of a girl as she takes a swim. Prolonged scene of her swimming in the water where you see breasts, bottom and pubic hair.
  • A man performs a ritual mating dance, during which his penis is visible and erect.

Violence & Gore

  • We see several scenes of primitive hunting in which animals (including kangaroos, birds, lizards, fish) are speared and beaten.
  • A few scenes show severed kangaroo limbs being thrown atop a fire.
  • A hunter kills several water buffalo with a rifle. One scene is very graphic in which the hunter then cuts open a buffalo's throat to drain the blood, exposing the inner organs.
  • We are shown a large animal get killed by gunfire and by a spear.
  • A father tries to kill his kids with a gun, and later gets burned alive in a car. Another person hangs himself from a tree.

Profanity

  • One use of the F-word, heard in the background as a man shouts at a group of aborigines.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Two instances of smoking (one largely offscreen).
  • One scene shows a few people drinking wine.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Towards the beginning of the film, we watch as a father tries to kill his kids with a gun and then kills himself. At another point, another character is seen hanging from a tree after having killed himself.
