Denzel Washington is unarguably one of the best actors and personality as a whole that the entertainment industry could ever be gifted with. Not only is he one of the most respectable celebrities in all of Hollywood, he is also one of the most widely commended actors of all time. If anything, he doesn’t hesitate to speak his mind and act his heart out.
Denzel Washington in The Tragedy of Macbeth.
That being said, he also aimed to break one long-standing stereotype about him while working on his 2001 thriller-crime masterpiece with Ethan Hawke, Training Day. According to what Hawke shared during an interview, even when people tried to stop him, Washington stayed on his decision to prove that he could play a bad guy and still be a role model by “being great at my job.”

The Kate Middleton conspiracies — ahem, Katespiracies — highlight what she “can’t do.” According to a commentator, the Princess of Wales can’t speak out like Meghan Markle once did about the mental toll of rampant speculation online.
Kate ‘can’t’ and ‘won’t’ voice any potential mental health struggles publicly
“My advice to people on social media would be to treat Kate as you would want to be treated yourself,” Jack Royston, a royal commentator, said on Royal Report (via Newsweek).

Kate’s been at home recovering from abdominal surgery since January 2024.

Zack Snyder is currently one of the most prominent directors in Hollywood, receiving both praise and criticism. While he has showcased his skills in directing a specific type of film, his work has also encountered criticism, and the reasons behind it are evident. He did not have anything to do with 2016’s Suicide Squad, but Snyder’s involvement in the Dceu certainly did no favors to the movie.
Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck working together
In fact, fans might not be shocked to know that 2016’s Suicide Squad took the Letterboxed top spot as the worst Oscar-winning film of all time, which is a very shameful achievement, to say the least. After all, the film ended up becoming one of the most hated films under the DC banner as it managed to do everything wrong.

February has barely gotten underway, but 2024 is already hard at work taking beloved artists from us. Mark Gustafson, a pillar of stop-motion and the co-director of the Oscar-winning film "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio," sadly passed away on Thursday, February 1, at age 64, The Oregonian reports.
Though del Toro's name is in the film's title and his influence and style is in every aspect of the film, it was Gustafson who handled most of the day-to-day animation directing duties on "Pinocchio." His style and eye are as big a part of the reason for that movie's success as del Toro's.
Born on September 19, 1959, Gustafson had a long and celebrated career in animation that started back in the 1980s at The House That Claymation Built, when the animator worked at the celebrated Will Vinton Studios. It was there that Gustafson lent his talents to projects featuring the California Raisins characters, the claymation sequences in "Return to Oz,...

The Mean Machine is getting back on the field… again. Deadline reports that Paramount Pictures are developing another remake of The Longest Yard.
The 1974 original was a prison sports comedy starring Burt Reynolds as Paul “Wrecking” Crewe, a former NFL star who is sentenced to 18 months in Citrus State Prison, where he recruits a group of prisoners to play football against the guards. The film included a number of real-life football stars, including Ray Nitschke of the Green Bay Packers. The 2005 remake amped up the comedy and starred Adam Sandler in the role of the wash-up quarterback, who agrees to assemble a prison team in exchange for a reduced sentence. Burt Reynolds appeared in the remake as the team’s coach.

Bram Stoker Award-Winning author Adam Cesare released his original slasher novel Clown in a Cornfield in 2020, which Bloody Disgusting’s own Meagan Navarro called “a great retro slasher in the guise of Young Adult horror.” Meagan added, “Cesare applies an ’80s style slasher to a modern setting, complete with social relevancy, making the small town setting just as eerie as its homicidal, creepy clown. In other words, this author doesn’t water the horror down for its Young Adult demographic, making it an enjoyable read for any horror fan.”

Quentin Tarantino spent a lot of time on his 2009 feature Inglourious Basterds. During that period, he decided to live the bachelor’s life, since being in a relationship might’ve sabotaged his war film.

Tarantino wanted to devote much of his focus and time to movie-making. So although the filmmaker had plenty of opportunities to settle down, he felt it was in his work’s best interest to remain single.
“When I’m doing a movie, I’m not doing anything else. It’s all about the movie. I don’t have a wife. I don’t have a kid. Nothing can get in my way,” he once told GQ.

There will be no more bombshells in Los Angeles' courtrooms.
Deadline reported that HBO has opted not to renew Perry Mason for a third season.
The news comes close to two months after Season 2 bowed out.

“While we won’t be moving forward with another season of the series, we are excited to continue working with the brilliant creatives at Team Downey on future projects,” the statement concluded.
While the news is shocking, it is not surprising because of the significant delay on HBO's part in dishing out a third season renewal after or during Perry Mason Season 2.

Alec Baldwin today thanked two rather disparate people in responding to New Mexico dropping criminal charges today against him in the on-set shooting death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
The Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning star’s first public comments on the surprise development came in an Instagram post. Under a doting photo of Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, the actor added the caption: “I owe everything I have to this woman (and to you Luke).”
The latter is a nod to Luke Nikas, Baldwin’s attorney in the Rust case.
Today’s news about the charges surrounding the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Rust set in October 2021 came less than two weeks before a mini-trial was scheduled to begin in New Mexico. Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated actor Woody Harrelson first hit our screens as the somewhat simple but always friendly bartender in Cheers. But since then he has gone on the become a favorite of the big screen, with appearances in Indecent Proposal, Natural Born Killers, and more recently Seven Ponds with Will Smith.
But in between starring in some of recent cinema’s most memorable movies, Harrelson has also become known as an environmental activist who is not scared to go out on a limb to save the planet.
He once scaled the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco with members of North Coast Earth First! group to unfurl a banner that read, “Aren’t ancient redwoods more precious than gold?” and traveled the American West Coast on a bike and domino caravan with a hemp oil-fueled biodiesel bus.

Pamela Duckworth, the head of Fubo Sports Network, is one of the rare examples of women rising to the top in sports media. She credits her career success to “having a thick skin” in the male-dominated industry.
“You have to have a thick skin because when you’re doing sports, especially if you’re doing live sports, everything is coming at you so quickly that you just have to roll with it,” she told TheWrap for this week’s Office With a View. “You have to be like, ‘Ok, I can fix this’ and be solution-oriented.”
Duckworth, who also oversees the Ott streamer’s original sports programming, noted that when she started in her career, she was “one of like two or three females” working on car racing.

“We’re enhancing the 3D by kind of bringing the water out into the audience, at the beginning of the film with, Chrissy, where she’s swimming,” explains stereographer Jeremy Carroll — who led the conversion to 3D, with direction by Spielberg — in a new episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Behind the Screen. “That’s an intentional choice that we made to really kind of bring the audience into those shots to make you feel like you’re in the water with her to up that tension.”
To be sure, this isn’t Jaws 3D, the 1983 sequel that was viewed by audiences with cardboard glasses and received generally negative reviews.

A lot of people, when asked what they would do differently if they could go back in time, insist “I wouldn’t change a thing.”
Not Brandon Lee.
In 1993, a 16-year-old boy going by that name enrolled in a Scottish secondary school called Bearsden Academy, located in a tony suburb of Glasgow. He claimed to have grown up in Canada, the son of a peripatetic opera singer who had been killed in an auto accident. His academic gifts dazzled, even if his social skills didn’t impress so much. With his precocious intellect, Lee appeared well on his way to achieving his stated goal of getting into medical school.
It took more than a year for the truth to come out: “Brandon Lee” was a fiction. Lee was actually Brian MacKinnon, a 32-year-old former Bearsden pupil who had returned to the school in the guise of a teenager. The strange...

Updated with latest: There is a reason one of Jerry West’s nicknames is “Mr. Clutch”: He is not a man given to caving under pressure.
So while HBO today defended its buzzy series about the 1979-80 Los Angeles Lakers amid a storm of criticism from several Lakers legends and West, the former Lakers point guard, coach and Gm doesn’t sound like he’s backing down.
In an interview with the L.A. Times published this morning before HBO issued its response, West confirmed his intention to take legal action if HBO does not issue a retraction.
“The series made us all [the Lakers] look like cartoon characters,” West told the Times. “They belittled something good. If I have to, I will take this all the way to the Supreme Court.”
West’s attorneys contend Winning Time “falsely and cruelly portrays Mr. West as an out-of-control, intoxicated rage-aholic. The Jerry...

Former Los Angeles Lakers player, coach, and executive Jerry West is demanding a retraction and apology from HBO and Adam McKay over his portrayal in the new series, Winning Time, ESPN reports.
A letter sent by his lawyers refers to the depiction of West in the show (he’s played by Jason Clarke) as “a baseless and malicious assault” on his character. “Winning Time falsely and cruelly portrays Mr. West as an out-of-control, intoxicated rage-aholic,” it continues, adding that such a character “bears no resemblance to the real man.”
