Saeed Jaffrey’s screen reputation was very much forged in the west. After studying theatre in the Us – where he was joined by his then wife Madhur – Jaffrey met the producer Ismail Merchant and was cast in a small role in 1969’s The Guru, alongside Madhur. It was several years, however, before he bagged his first really high-profile part, as the Gurkha Billy Fish in the John Huston-directed The Man Who Would Be King in 1975.

Richard Lester’s film The Four Musketeers is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. With an all-star cast that includes Oliver Reed, Faye Dunaway, Raquel Welch, Richard Chamberlain, Michael York, and Sir Christopher Lee, the film will be shown on Tuesday, September 29th, 2015 at 7:00 pm as a special tribute to Sir Christopher as well as part of the theatre's Anniversary Classics series. Actors Richard Chamberlain and Michael York are scheduled to appear at the screening and take part in a Q & A and discussion on the making of the film.

The Darjeeling Limited was the only Wes Anderson film I had yet to see. Thanks to Criterion, I can now scratch that stat off my list, though I'm not sure I'll ever be returning to it. I don't say this because I hated it, simply because I don't feel there is much need to see it twice. I've seen it, I've moved on and there are far too many films I have not seen and others I'd much rather watch again to really give this one much of a second thought.
It should be mentioned I am not one of Anderson's die-hard followers. As much as I love Bottle Rocket and The Fantastic Mr. Fox, most of Anderson's other work (yes, even Rushmore) has done very little to interest me. That said, I can see why his fans are so loyal as most of his work follows a similar tone...
