Director: LAMBERT HILLYER. Original screenplay: Gerald Geraghty. Photography: Benjamin Kline. Film editor: Jerome Thoms. Music: Mischa Bakaleinikoff, Sidney Cutner, Ben Oakland. No further credits either on the movie itself or issued by Columbia publicity. Producer: Leon Barsha.

Copyright 14 August 1941 by Columbia Pictures Corp. No New York opening. U.S. release: 14 August 1941. Australian release: 3 December 1942. 6 reels. 5,720 feet. 63 minutes.

SYNOPSIS: Morgan King is out to control the whole territory, but Wild Bill Hickok is out to stop him.

NOTES: First of a series of eight westerns starring Wild Bill Elliott and Tex Ritter. COMMENT: An enjoyable western, with good action and songs. The basic plot is familiar, but the writer gives it a few new twists and adds some interesting characters, agreeably played by Elliott, Ritter, Linden and Taylor.

The support players though are not much and we would have appreciated a much more personable heavy than the almost zero-rating Guy Usher.

Hillyer directs at a reasonably brisk pace and has a good eye for the picturesque.
