Leidy, 13, is a Colombian rose seller. She sees her fate turn upside down when she is offered to be the star of a film which will be a triumph at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. She plays her own role, with co-stars who are her real-life comrades in misery. But the curtain will soon fall. Drugs, prostitution, violence are the only reward for these once actors. Most of whom will get murdered, victims of score settling. Today, Leidy, mother of two small children, is in prison for murder. "Take my heart and my roses" is the story of this descent into hell, as seen through the eyes of a street child who dreamed of another life. A modern and universal fable about destiny from which no one can escape.
