Watchable minor entry in the emerging subgenre of AI suspense/horror. It doesn't quite all come together, but it's a solid enough piece of entertainment - for those not expecting too much from a low-budget indie genre flick - with a few genuinely creepy moments, a lead with charm and presence, and a score and production design that are surprisingly on point if not strikingly original. I was pleasantly surprised by Dark Cloud after reading the awfully harsh reviews. It's the kind of debut that makes me want to take note of names to keep an eye out for. Having a little too much ambition for a small-scale production ain't a bad thing, folks!
